Katy Perry left little to the imagination in a snakeskin-print co-ord and a high-waisted thong as she celebrated the release of her long-awaited album 143 with a party in West Hollywood on Friday.
The California Girls singer, 39, made a very bold fashion statement at Beaches Tropicana after brushing off the lacklustre reception of her first single Women’s World.
Taking inspiration from the 2000s for her look, Katy flaunted her toned abs in a micro mini skirt, which she layered over her underwear.
Going braless, the American songstress paired her skirt with a matching crop top, which featured an opening panel around the chest.
To complete a snakeskin look, she added a pair of matching dress gloves, which trailed to the tops of her arms and featured golden buckles along the sides.
She added inches to her toned frame as she slipped into some black knee-high snakeskin-heeled boots.
Keeping her accessories to a minimum, she finished her look with a pair of trendy black sunglᴀsses and a black handbag.
At the event, Carmen Electra also turned heads as she arrived at the party wearing a silky, bright red satin dress layered over a full-body fishnet one-piece.
She finished her look with a dramatic high ponytail and a pair of shiny silver heels.
Katy Perry’s seventh studio album is set to be released on September, 20.
The tracklist for the new release has yet to be formally announced, but via Instagram Live, it has teased tracks including Gimme Gimme (ft. 21 Savage), Nirvana, and I’m His, He’s Mine.
Typically 143 is code for ‘I love you’ – it represents the number of letters in each word, one for ‘I,’ four for ‘love,’ and three for ‘you’- and was used in the early 90s on pager devices.
The record will also include some of her already released singles, Woman’s World and Lifetimes.
‘Katy is freaking out right now because she is very aware of the feedback that Woman’s World is getting,’ a source told DailyMail.com.
Adding: ‘She is pointing the fingers at everyone but herself, but it is her own fault.’
Katy was met with mixed reviews after releasing the Woman’s World patriotic-themed video that leaned into pseudo-empowering female tropes.
‘We’re kind of just having fun, being a bit sarcastic with it,’ she defended the visual in a behind-the-scenes clip. ‘It’s very slapstick and very on the nose.
‘With this set it’s like, “Oooh, we’re not about the male gaze, but we really are about the male gaze.” And we’re really overplaying it and on the nose,’ explained Perry.
She also received backlash for Sєxualized nature of the video, as well criticism for working with music producer Dr. Luke after his legal battle with Kesha – who had accused him of Sєxual, physical and emotional abuse.
Woman’s World was billed as an empowering feminist song but was dismissed as hypocritical and unoriginal.
Kesha even took to her social media in response to Katy’s attempt at a feminist anthem, writing ‘lol’ on her X account.
Katy has also been met with backlash after her latest video for Lifetimes was filmed on protected sand dunes in the Balearic Islands.
The Spanish archipelago’s government has since launched an investigation after production took place without approval.
‘The local video production company ᴀssured us that all necessary permits for the video were secured,’ a representative for Katy’s label, Capitol Records, told Variety.
‘We have since learned that one permit was in process, although we were given verbal authority to go ahead.’
They added, ‘We adhered to all regulations ᴀssociated with filming in this area and have the utmost respect for this location and the officials tasked with protecting it.’
