Charli XCX looked incredible while posing in a lacy lingerie for a racy new pH๏τoshoot on Friday.
The singer, 32, wore a cropped lace corset and leather H๏τ pants before changing into a sheer bra as she covered the lastest issue of i-D magazine’s digital edition.
Charli, who has been credited with the ‘Brat summer’ movement – named after her album – sparked a trend defined by party animal antics and being unapologetically oneself.
Proving that it’s not yet over, she embodied the craze and danced while covered in bubbles.
The songwriter, real name Charlotte Emma Aitchison, teamed her first look with feathered gloves and a studded belt.
Joined by Troye Sivan, who she is gearing up to kick off a US tour with, Charli wore a crop top and shorts before changing into a long vintage gown.
She described Brat as ‘a girl who’s messy, likes to party… says some dumb things,’ but revealed how she hasn’t always been so comfortable.
The singer continued: ‘I was making music when I was 14. I was so lame. The culture of cool, aesthetic references and being well read, actually, is happening younger and younger and younger.
‘Most 12-year-olds are cool right now or have an awareness of, my life on the internet.
Like, “I need to present in a certain way and I need to have certain interests and understand certain things and know what is socially, politically, culturally correct, incorrect and what is aesthetically pleasing.”‘
Anyone hoping for a few more days of BRAT summer were left disappointed on Thursday evening after Charli XCX and her mesmerising new album failed to win the coveted Mercury Prize.
Instead, the accolade went to Leeds based indie band English Teacher for their critically acclaimed debut album, This Could Be Texas.
The band, fronted by singer Lily Fontaine, were on hand to collect their award in person as they attended the event at London’s iconic Abbey Road Studios.
Taking to the stage, band-members Fontaine, Lewis Whiting, Douglas Frost and Nicholas Eden thaked their respective families before making their way to the press room.
Charli XCX had been H๏τly-tipped to won the award after releasing sixth studio album BRAT in June – and sparking a viral trend inspired by the one-syllable word in the process.
The singer couldn’t be at the Mercury Prize because she is in the final stages of rehearsing for her US tour with Troye Sivan.
Other nominees included CMAT, Barry Can’t Swim, Cat Burns, BERWYN, Beth Gibbons, Ghetts, Nia Archive, Corinne Bailey Rae, corto.alto and The Last Dinner Party.
The judging team said: ‘This has been a really tough year for the Mercury Prize judges, with the final 12 albums being so reflective of our diverse and rich musical landscape. There was so much pᴀssion and enthusiasm for each one.
