Kate Winslet’s daughter Mia Threapleton reveals why she refuses to watch тιтanic

Kate Winslet’s daughter, Mia Threapleton has revealed why she refuses to watch тιтanic.

Mia, 24, says she still can’t sit through the entire movie – and it’s all down to that steamy car scene with Leonardo DiCaprio.

The actress opened up to MailOnline’s Richard Eden, revealing she’s never watched the film in full because of her mum’s now-famous racy moments.

She said: ‘As I got older, kids sort of knew who my mum was. Sometimes, they asked if I’d ever watched the car scene in тιтanic, and I’d say no.’

However, when she was 12 years old, she remembers the movie playing on their family television and her mother covering her eyes during that one particular scene.

Kate, 49, sH๏τ to superstardom as Rose DeWitt Bukater in James Cameron’s 1997 blockbuster, which broke box office records and scooped up 11 Oscars.

She was also nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards, and her on-screen chemistry with Leonardo, 50, became iconic.

The movie is a historical romance and disaster film that tells a fictionalised love story set against the real-life sinking of the RMS тιтanic in 1912.

Rose (Kate) who is being forced to marry a wealthy man, falls in love with Jack (Leonardo), a talented artist, aboard the unsinkable тιтanic. Unfortunately, the ship hits an iceberg, endangering their lives.

Mia’s interview comes just days after she attended the Cannes Film Festival for The Phoenician Scheme’s very star-studded premiere.

The actress looked incredible in a dramatic dark green gown as she posed up a storm for the cameras.

The strapless number, which was embroidered with an orange flower design, also featured a statement-structured skirt.

The Phoenician Scheme was the most star-studded movie that premiered at this year’s Cannes, but this is no surprise with legendary director Anderson at the helm.

Leading the cast is Benicio del Toro, who plays wealthy businessman Zsa-zsa Korda, who appoints his only daughter, a nun as the sole heir to his estate.

However, as Korda embarks on a new enterprise, they soon become the target of scheming tycoons, foreign terrorists and determined ᴀssᴀssins.

Mia stars as Sister Liesl, and she joins Michael Cera, Riz Ahmed, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Richard Ayoade, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rupert Friend and Bill Murray.

The movie is set to be released in the US on May 30, with hopes it could become Anderson’s next big Oscars contender, following his success with The Grant Budapest H๏τel in 2014.
