Stacey Solomon’s close friend has spoke about the star’s ‘quiet sacrifices’ behind the scenes after she lost out on a BAFTA award.
The presenter, 35, showed a different side to her usual wholesome demeanor when she furiously let rip at the BAFTA judges in an online rant after losing out on a prize during Sunday night’s 2025 BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises.
Stacey’s BBC show Sort Your Life Out was nominated in the Factual Entertainment category but lost out to Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder’s programme Grand Tour.
However, while she congratulated the winners, Stacey couldn’t help but reveal how ‘gutted’ she was for her team who ‘deserved’ the award as she declared that they were ‘robbed’.
Fans were left less than impressed by the ‘whinging’ mother-of-five as they told her to ‘get a grip’ and to stopping being a ‘bad loser’.
But Stacey has been defended by her friend Emma Parr who shared a heartfelt post on Instagram praising the star for her hard work.

Sharing a pH๏τo of the pair together, she wrote: ‘You gave it everything. That’s what matters. No need for a тιтle to prove what I already know — you’re a winner in my eyes. Love you @staceysolomon love you @sortyourlifeout.
‘I saw the effort you put in. I saw the late nights, the early mornings, the quiet sacrifices no one else noticed.
‘You carried yourself with strength, determination, and grace. And that means more than any тιтle or trophy ever could.’
Stacey commented ‘Love u’ on the post, with Emma writing back: ‘Ditto’.
In her video expressing frustration over the loss, Stacey fumed: ‘We didn’t win a BAFTA. And I know I’m supposed to take it gracefully like a champ but, I’ll be honest, I’m devastated!
Laughing at her reaction, she continued: ‘I’m not handling it very well, I’m not taking it very gracefully – I’m devastated! I’m devastated for our whole team, like I’m so gutted for our team.
‘Everyone got dressed up and was really hopeful, I think because they work so hard. It’s not an easy show to make, Sort Your Life Out and the team work so hard to make it happen and they so deserve the BAFTA.
‘The Sort Your Life Out team deserved a BAFTA and I’m devastated. I’m not saying that everyone else didn’t deserve their BAFTAs, they absolutely did.

‘People think making TV is really easy and it’s not, so everyone deserves recognition. But I’m just gutted for my whole Sort Your Life Out family because I feel like they deserved a BAFTA. I’m gonna say it – I’m gutted!’
Going on to reveal what it takes to make their show, she went on: ‘We’ll pack up a house and within seven days that house is packed up, into vans, over to a warehouse, laid out on the floor, we go through it meticulously, we make sure it doesn’t just get chucked away.
‘We donate, we recycle, we resell things. We put it all back and try and put it in systems to help families move forward…’
She also gave a shout out to the families who give up their time and open their homes to TV audiences, especially when they run the risk of being judged.
Waving her hose in the air, a fuming Stacey concluded: ‘I’m gutted!’ before praising her whole team and noting they planned to give it their all for series six.
Fans then claimed Stacey was starting to ‘show her true colours’ compared to her usual wholesome demeanor and told the BBC presenter to ‘grow up’ and that she has ‘got too big for her boots’.
They wrote: ‘She’s not as wholesome as she comes across; It’s called life Stacey so get a grip; Be thankful for where you are and remind yourself where you came from. Stop whinging;
‘Grow up. Don’t be a bad loser. Others were better. You smile and shut up; 1st world problems of the 1%;
Stacey revealed how her team ‘deserved’ to win a prize during the prestigious ceremony [L-R Sort Your Life Out’s Robert Bent, Stacey, Dilly Carter and Iwan Carrington]
‘Oh Shut up will you….. just remind yourself that, you can go home to a nice tidy warm and friendly house, food in the fridge, heat in the radiators and a loving family;
‘Showing her true colours – worthy of being cancelled; Get real Stace. Just because YOU want it doesn’t mean you deserve it; Getting too big for her boots me thinks;
‘She gone so big headed!!!!; Enтιтlement is off the charts;
‘It’s ok to be disappointed for the team, but thinking you should have won a BAFTA because the show you make is hard work is just ludicrous. You took the job. I’m sure get paid handsomely for it. A lot of truly hardworking people don’t get well paid and don’t expect an award, or even think they deserve one.’
However not everyone agreed and others believed Stacey was being ‘refreshingly honestly’ and was simply just ‘disappointed for her team’.
They penned: ‘I don’t think she was letting rip she was just saying she was disappointed for her team. She wasn’t ranting;
‘Why is it unwholesome admitting that you’re really disappointed? I think it’s refreshingly honest!’

On Sunday, Stacey turned heads on the red carpet after she re-purposed her wedding dress for the ceremony [pictured with husband Joe]
Stacey took to her Instagram ahead of the ceremony to share a slew of snaps in her dazzling outfit
Stacey took to her Instagram ahead of the ceremony to share a slew of snaps in her dazzling outfit, which she revealed had been made from her bridal gown from her wedding to Joe Swash in July 2022.
She showcased her tiny waist and toned legs in reworked dress, which had been altered into a fashion-forward playsuit, as she insisted wearing her wedding look only once ‘feels like a travesty’.
Keeping the corseted bodice from the original dress, Stacey removed the off-the-shoulder sleeves and added dramatic pointed detailing to the neckline.
While her skirt was changed into shorts, with a thigh-high slit cut into the sparkling skirt overlay, allowing a glimpse at her long legs underneath.
Revealing the sweet origin of her outfit, Stacey also explained why she decided to re-wear her special dress from her wedding day.
She wrote: ‘I decided to have my wedding dress re worked for today because wearing it once feels like a travesty to me. I wanted to get her out of the box & take her out on another special day.
‘Thank you @fayesawyerstylist & Issy for transforming my wedding dress into something so special & beautiful. I love you girls. Thank you penny for making me feel so beautiful as always. HERE WE GO! Fingers crossed’.
