Amanda Holden has revealed a surprise ‘golden girl’ is set to perform on Saturday’s episode of Britain’s Got Talent. 

The judge, 54, excitedly shared the news that show legend Sydnie Christmas will take to the stage during the latest round of semi-finals as a special treat for viewers.

Sydnie, 29, triumphed on the ITV talent show last year after Amanda gave her the Golden Buzzer during her audition, with the talented singer nabbing the £250,000 prize and performing in front of King Charles at the Royal Variety Performance.

Confirming the singer’s return to Britain’s Got Talent, Amanda also revealed she has become very close with Sydnie since her win, and the star has even joined her and celebrity pal Alan Carr on holiday.

She exclusively told MailOnline: ‘I’ve spent lots of time with Sydnie over the last twelve months.

‘She joined me and Alan Carr on holiday in Corfu and took us on the ride of our lives on inflatable doughnuts! The video has had over 15 million views as Alan capsized!

The judge, 54, admitted that she ‘can’t wait’ to see her ‘amazing, golden girl’ musician, Sydnie Christmas, take to the stage.

‘Sydnie also came all the way down to Cornwall when I set off on my charity cycle to London for Heart Breakfast to wish me luck. She’s amazing and I can’t wait to see what’s next for her.’

‘All of us will feel so proud watching Sydnie perform tonight. I feel like a proud BGT mum. I’m beyond happy for her, and all her success since appearing on the show,’ Amanda added.

‘She’s a star. Sydnie is our golden girl. To see everything she has achieved, including 2 sold out shows in America, is just testament to the wonderful and talented person she is. And why I’m a Sydnie Christmas fan girl!’ 

After winning BGT, Sydnie caught the attention of Andrew Lloyd Webber who encouraged her to release her own version of hit song Starlight Express.

She went on to have a US and UK iTunes number 1 with her debut album My Way. 

For the Royal Variety Performance, Sydnie joined the likes of Eurovision winner Nemo, treble Brit Award winner James Bay and Sophie Ellis-Bextor in performing.

The BGT winner was accompanied by Dave Arch and The Royal Variety Orchestra for her award-winning performance as she belted out her song Believer on stage.

Amanda and her TV co-star Alan Carr also teamed up to present the highly anticipated show.

Earlier this year, Sydnie revealed that she was going back to school despite winning £250,000 on Britain’s Got Talent. 

Before finding fame on the show, Sydnie worked at a central London gym and she is still determined to complete her Level 3 personal training qualification.

Speaking to The Mirror, she said: ‘I’m going back to school in March. I’m going to finish my level three PT qualification. It’s good to have something, just incase.’ 

One thing Sydnie definitely doesn’t miss, however, is the daily commute. 

Recalling a particularly tough experience, she admitted: ‘A week before my audition, I got off my first bus at 4am, there was sick down the back of my coat. It was rough.’
