Hilaria Baldwin reportedly ‘took her rings off’ and was ‘ready to walk away’ from her husband Alec as she revealed they nearly divorced in her upcoming memoir. 

According to The Sun, an extract from her new book Manual Not Included talks about a difficult period in their relationship where the actor, 67, was working a lot.

The rough patch was said to be both before and after the birth of their second child, son Rafael, in June 2015.

The publication reports that Hilaria’s memoir explains how the couple ‘fought a lot’ as Alec was travelling a lot for work while his wife was alone in New York looking after their young daughter Carmen and their dogs.

Hilaria allegedly wrote: ‘It really p***** me off, and I didn’t hesitate to tell him so. That year was probably the rockiest for us, and not just in terms of juggling a baby and a toddler.

‘I was so focused on how I thought things should be, and Alec was so set in his ways. Neither one of us would budge.

‘I took my rings off as a sign that I was potentially ready to walk.’ 

The actor reportedly even responded to emails and took calls while she was in labour giving birth to Rafael. 

He also went back to work immediately after the baby’s premature birth, which Hilaria thought was ‘disrespectful’.

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Hilaria for comment. 

However, the couple worked on their marriage and even renewed their vows to celebrate their fifth anniversary in 2017.

Manual Not Included, which is set to be released next week, Hilaria writes about ‘the relatable, hard-earned insights she’s gained from her experiences as an individual, a partner, and a parent – from feeling empowered, to having a fulfilling relationship, to being as good a mother as possible, all while still being a work in progress.’

The description reads: ‘After meeting her husband, actor Alec Baldwin, Hilaria found joy and purpose entering the public eye, where she sought to build community and connection with others. 

‘She also faced the challenges of the uglier, more toxic parts of the spotlight, living under a warped magnifying glᴀss. 

‘Through the ups and downs, Hilaria leaned into wisdom and support offered by others, learning that optimism, kindness, and a sense of humor can put life into perspective.

It comes just after Alec and Hilaria made a glamorous pair while attending the Jazz At Lincoln Center Annual Gala in New York City on Wednesday.

The actor cut a dashing figure in a navy suit and a burgundy ʙuттon-up, as he posed alongside his busty wife, 41, who wowed in a low-cut lilac gown.

The yoga instructor’s plunging lace dress highlighted her ample cleavage and toned figure.

The mom-of-seven — who snapped at Alec during another recent red carpet appearance — paired the look with pointed to sparkly silver heels, and wore her raven tresses cascading down her back.

Their outing comes after Alec was officially replaced as the executive producer and host of Match Game, after ABC canceled the game show in 2022 following the tragic shooting of his Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The network announced Tuesday that Martin Short who – at 75 is eight years older than Alec – will be taking over the Match Game revival, which begins filming in Montreal this June and airs this summer on ABC/Hulu.

Baldwin’s involuntary manslaughter trial was dismissed July 12 after he denied ever pulling the trigger on the revolver that fired a single bullet into Rust director Joel Souza’s arm and punctured the Ukrainian DP’s chest killing her, at age 42, in 2021 

The Canadian comedian is the fifth host hired after Baldwin, Michael Burger, Ross Shafer, and Gene Rayburn on the $25K fill-in-the-blank panel game show that originally debuted in 1962 on NBC.

On Tuesday, Alec did not comment on Short’s hiring, but he and Hilaria shared a dancing video.

The Baldwins was blasted by critics as ‘a self-pitying attempt at image rehabilitation’ as well as an ‘outright offensive response’ to the real-life tragedy of Hutchins.

DailyMail.com’s Christopher Stevens gave it one star out of five, writing: ‘If this series is meant to make us feel sympathy, it has done the reverse. Last week, Alec Baldwin was just a has-been actor to me. Now I know exactly who he and his wife are. What hideous people.’

The Guardian’s Lucy Mangan also gave the series one out of five stars, writing: ‘The Baldwins is dreadful, and makes the couple look likewise.’

On January 9, Alec filed a civil lawsuit against the Rust case prosecutors, investigators, and commissioners for defamation and malicious prosecution and civil rights violations due to ‘intentionally mishandling evidence.’

Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed has only six months remaining of her 18-month sentence in New Mexico Women’s Correctional Facility due to the involuntary manslaughter conviction for her role in the shooting.

Baldwin produced and stars as aging outlaw character Harland Rust in the controversial western Rust, which premieres on digital and select US theaters Friday.

All of the proceeds of the action-packed flick, set in 1880s Kansas, will go to Halyna’s widower Matthew Hutchins (who received an executive producer credit) and their 12-year-old son Andros.
