Max Verstappen has welcomed his first child with girlfriend Kelly Piquet.
The F1 star, 27, announced the news on Instagram, sharing a slew of black and white snaps of their baby girl.
Max called his daughter the ‘greatest gift’ and revealed they had named her Lily.
Alongside the adorable pictures, he wrote: ‘Welcome to the world, sweet Lily. Our hearts are fuller than ever – you are our greatest gift. We love you so much.’
While Lily is Max’s first child, model Kelly, 36, already has a daughter, Penelope, born in 2019, from her previous relationship with Formula One driver Daniil Kvyat, 30.
When talking about having his first child, Max previously explained he is already somewhat prepared thanks to Penelope.

The Dutchman said in the Talking Bull podcast: ‘Luckily I did get a little bit of training with Penelope, seeing her grow up already for like four years. Which has been also really, really nice.
‘But yes, for sure, when it’s like, also going be fully your own [kid]… Yes, it’s going to be a different challenge. But I’m looking forward to it’.
The joyous baby news came just a day after it was revealed Max had been withdrawn from his scheduled media commitments for this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix.
A spokesperson for Red Bull said: ‘Max will not be attending media day in Miami as he is expecting a baby.
‘All is well and he will attend track tomorrow for the race weekend.
‘We will not be offering any further comment at this time in respect towards the privacy of Max and his family.’
The couple began dating in October 2020, and announced that they were expecting their first child together last December.
Despite having a nine-year age gap, Kelly previously said that her relationship with Max is thriving because of the mutual understanding they have for each other.
The couple shared an adorable snap of baby Lily grabbing hold of Kelly’s finger and gushed: ‘Our hearts are fuller than ever – you are our greatest gift. We love you so much.’

‘I also really appreciate how he treats Penelope. It’s so sweet to see.’
The subject of marriage has been publicly addressed by Max, who said that only ‘time will tell’ if he and Kelly decide to tie the knot.
Kelly is the daughter of F1 legend Nelson Piquet, who won three Drivers’ Championships himself in the 1980s, though he was also embroiled in a racism scandal with Lewis Hamilton.
Last year, Max was forced to leap to Kelly’s defence after a wave of unsavoury rumours and accusations that have been made against her.
Kelly issued an emotional statement on her Instagram account asking social media users to stop spreading ‘falsehoods’ about her.
She stated that she had ‘in the past three years been navigating a strange and upsetting wave of accusations’, some of which related to her previous relationships.
The post prompted Red Bull drive Max to issue his public support to Kelly.
‘This has to stop. These false accusations by certain individuals on Instagram and TikTok are insane and ridiculous at the same time,’ the Formula One world champion wrote on Instagram.
‘Hate has no place in this world. We know what’s true within our family and we are very happy together. I love you,’ he added with a heart emoji.
Kelly addressed accusations that have recently been made against her on Instagram in an emotional statement asking social media users to think twice before posting rumours online.
‘A note from me and a gentle reminder to all…’ she began. ‘The online world can be a wonderful place for various reasons, but a very scary one when wrong information and lies are thrown around.
‘I am unsure of the appropriate approach to address hate stemming from falsehoods. I have considered composing a response and letting it stand.

‘For over three years I’ve been navigating a very strange and upsetting wave of accusations, rumours, fabricated situations, fake testimonials, pH๏τoshopped screensH๏τs… you name it. All the while staying silent and not playing into these ridiculous claims.
‘Accusations made in the past months especially have taken on another level of defamation. Those who know me know that I would never put myself in such positions, say certain things or act in such a way.
‘I am far from perfect, but I do take pride in my values, morals and manner. Let that be clear.
‘As a human being, the comments and hate affect me and the people around me deeply. I hope this serves as a reminder for people to verify online content before making threats.’
