Coleen and Wayne Rooney were feeling proud of their eldest son Kai on Thursday, as the footballer’s team won the under 15’s Premier League Floodlit Cup North.
The 15-year-old is doing his best to follow in the footsteps of his father Wayne and is making waves in the Manchester United youth academy, having initially joined in 2020.
And now, he’s left his parents delighted after the the Red Devils youth team took the home the trophy, beating Manchester City in a thrilling final.
It was Kai who scored the dramatic winning goal in the 96th minute during extra time, after the team were 3-0 down with twelve minutes to go before the game ended with a 4-3 victory.
Taking to Instagram to share their pride, Coleen and Wayne wrote on Instagram: ‘Proud of @kairooney.10. Great comeback from his team last night and an extra time winner always special. Keep working hard son.’
They shared two snaps of the talented youngster on the pitch, wearing a medal around his neck and later holding the trophy.

Coleen also shared a clip of the team celebrating on her Instagram Story as she wrote: ‘@kairooney.10 winning goal!! All the lads did brilliant.. congratulations’.
It comes just one week after Kai showed his illustrious footballing heritage with another stunning goal.
He clearly has talent – in his first full season he scored 56 goals for the youth set-up. Over the summer fans even jokingly called for him to join the first team at Old Trafford after seeing him take part in some drills, with a video showing his great finishing.
United ultimately suffered a crushing 5-1 defeat to their Spanish counterparts.
Earlier this year, Coleen, revealed that he is already feeling the heat because of his footballing heritage and gets abused by fans because of his father.
Foul chants are something his father has had plenty of experience of over his career as a player and manager. Wayne is a tough act to follow but Kai appears to be making good inroads at youth level.
His dad is a five-time Premier League champion, United’s all-time top scorer with 253 goals, and even won the Champions League in 2008.
Meanwhile, Coleen’s pride comes just after she shared a series of sweet family pictures on her Instagram on Friday as her husband Wayne proudly displayed his son’s portrait of him.
In one sweet snap, the mother-of-four, 39, looked radiant in a halterneck ʙικιɴι as she posed with her two sons, Kit, eight, and Cᴀss, five.

The proud mum then shared with her followers a snap of her son Klay, 10, sporting his football kit during a match.
In another sweet selfie, Klay beamed as he got the chance to meet professional darts player Luke Littler.

The couple have been married since 2008 and share four sons – Kai, Kit, Klay, and Cᴀss.
Coleen recently gave an insight into their relationship as she revealed what she and husband Wayne get up to after a long day of work commitments and childcare.
In a rare interview with MailOnline, the star shared what life has been like since Wayne came home after he was sacked from Plymouth Argyle.
She shared how important sleep is to both of them, despite struggling to get their full seven hours with the boys in the house, and revealed what they enjoy doing together.
Coleen, who recently launched her own supplement range with Applied Nutrition, said: ‘Wayne uses some of my products. He loves to sleep, so we both have a mug of the sleep powder with warm water in bed.’
The former Manchester United captain returned to his wife and their four children in Cheshire after his management position ended after just seven months.

Coleen said it has been great having Wayne around more to help out with their four boys.
She explained: ‘It’s great having him around. It’s great for the kids to have their dad back.
‘He’s down for school fixtures to parents evenings, pick-up and drop-offs. And we all go on walks together and go swimming with the kids.’
Coleen previously discussed the struggles of raising the boys during the height of Wayne’s career.
She said: ‘At times it’s like being a single parent, especially when he was at Manchester United and England.
‘You could never rely on a plan. I like a plan and a schedule. I found that hard.’
