Death In Paradise fans were thrilled when the BBC shared news about series 15 with a first look image. 

The wildly popular drama sees a string of detectives tackle crime on the tropical island of Saint Marie. 

Season 14 wrapped up last month with a dramatic finale and saw Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, played by Don Warrington, prepare to leave his role in the police department.

Now, fans have received an update on the next instalment from producers.

The Death In Paradise social media account on X shared a pH๏τograph of a clapboard on a beach.

It attracted thousands of likes and many comments from eager viewers of the show.

They confirmed that filming for season 15 had already started.

It was captioned: ‘We’re back in paradise! Filming has begun this week in Guadeloupe on the brand-new series of #DeathInParadise.’

Excited fans rushed to comment on the news and gushed: ‘Fabulous can’t wait for the new series.’

During a previous instalment it was revealed that Selwyn would be ‘phased out’ of the police team because of budgeting. 

Of the cuts, Commissioner Selwyn said: ‘I’m afraid they can, and they are.’

The officer had been in the show since 2011 and some fans were reeling about his possible departure. 

One viewer posted on X: ‘Why Death In Paradise’s mᴀssive bombshell could completely change the show Is Commissioner Selwyn leaving the show? If they remove the Excellent role of #CommissionerSelwyn, #DeathInParadise will no longer be a show worth watching. It will be Trash.’
