Our Yorkshire Farm fans ‘barely recognise’ Amanda and Clive Owen’s children as they show off dramatic new looks in latest reality show

Our Yorkshire Farm fans have said they ‘barely recognised’ Amanda and Clive Owen’s children as they appeared with dramatic new looks in the latest series of their reality show.

The shepherdess, 50, her farmer ex-husband, 69, and their nine children returned to our screens for the first episode of the new series of Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids on Tuesday night.

A spin-off from beloved farm life documentary series Our Yorkshire Farm, it sees the family renovate an abandoned farmhouse with the help of their children – Raven, 23, Reuben, 21, Miles, 18, Edith, 16, Violet, 14, Sidney, 13, Annas, 11, Clemmy, nine, and Nancy, eight.

But viewers were shocked to see the kids looking so mature on the show’s second series, especially 13-year-old Sidney, who was just seven when Our Yorkshire Farm first aired in 2018.

Fans took to social media to express their love of seeing the Owen kids grow up on screen, with one saying, ‘Sidney looks so grown up’, and, another adding, ‘Barely recognised Sid, he looks so grown up’, the Express reports.

He was even compared to his older brother Reuben, who now has his own spin-off Reuben: Life In The Dales about setting up a heavy plant machinery business with friends.

Sidney and his older brother Miles stepped up in last night’s episode, helping their father Clive with sheep herding on the family’s Yorkshire Dales farm Ravenseat while he recovered from a hip operation.

Though the farmer could not stop himself from helping out a little here and there, he was deeply thankful to his sons for taking on most of the work.

He said: ‘I couldn’t have managed without these lads to do what needed doing. So yeah, they have done very well.

‘It means from now on they needn’t hand the reins back to me, they can just carry on.’

He even went as far to joke: ‘I could find myself redundant.’

Viewers spotted the girls were suddenly looking much older too, with one saying, ‘Violet has certainly sH๏τ up’.

Another added: ‘My gosh, those girls have grown up so much.’

Some thought all the children were looking more grown-up these days: ‘All the children have grown so much and have beautiful personalities.’

Another user agreed: ‘Can’t believe how much the children have grown.’

It comes after their mother Amanda Owen sparked concern on yesterday’s episode of Lorraine as fans claimed ‘something doesn’t seem right’ during an interview from her farm.

She split from her husband in 2022 after 22 years of marriage – and opened up to host Lorraine, 65, about family life now as they continue to co-parent and what viewers can expect from the new series.

Speaking about her relationship with Clive, Amanda said: ‘It’s about moving forward. We’ve got plenty to amuse ourselves. There’s space.

‘There’s room to get away from each other, if we’re being absolutely brutally honest here.’

But some watching at home took to X to share their concerns. One asked: ‘Is Amanda ok? Something doesn’t seem right #Lorraine.’

‘Wow, Amanda is not looking well at all #lorraine.’

‘She doesn’t look well.’

‘She does not look well & yet Lorraine totally oblivious … or ignoring it.’

Her concerning interview came before the release of the first episode of series two of Our Farm Next Door last night – in which she made a cheeky joke about her ex-husband’s difficulties ‘getting his leg over’.

It was in reference to the second hip replacement he was about to undergo – but concerned fans pointed out ‘you can see he’s in pain’ as he prepared for the procedure in the episode, filmed in September last year.

Amanda said: ‘It’s getting ever so close now to Clive going for his hip operation. So yeah, he’s a bit nervous. I can tell, I know he’s a bit nervous, but he needs doing.

‘Because basically, I don’t think I can say… he can’t get his leg over, but yeah, he can’t.

‘He’s having to sit sideways on the quad bike at the moment. So yeah, it’s giving him some jip.

‘And trying to persuade him to do anything that’s gonna take him out of action is quite a hard sell, really.’

The first series of Our Farm Next Door aired in October last year, coming to an emotional end in November.

Fans fretted for months about whether the show would return – before the production company Wise Owl Films confirmed last month it was coming back.

It announced just last week that the first episode would air last night.

A clip posted by production company Wise Owl Films when the series’ return was announced told viewers what they could expect from it.

The caption read: ‘The hard work continues…but there’s also plenty of laughs in store, balmy sunny days, a winter wonderland, goats in coats and the return of Tony the Pony as we enjoy Summer to Spring in the new series.’

Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids is available on Channel 4.
