Tuesday evening’s episode of the ITV show saw Bradley Walsh welcome Lorraine, Hayley, Jim and Connor.

The contestants played against Chaser Paul Sinha, known as the Sinnerman, in an attempt to win a cash prize.

In the end only Lorraine, Jim and Connor took on Paul in the final chase and managed to score 18 together.

Bradley commented: ’18, not bad, despite showing a lot of speed in the cash builder round from Connor, Jim performed fantastic.’

But Paul had his own prediction based on the team’s performance.

He said: ‘Yeah it was a very good team performance, that is a good score, but I think you could’ve got 20 when you look back on it.’

The Chaser managed to win with only seven seconds remaining and Bradley commented, ‘Now that was closer than you imagined’.

‘It’s a cruel game,’ Paul said, ‘because you played really well.’

‘I did call it, I said 20 would probably have won and 18 might not have been quite enough and that’s exactly how it played out so unlucky guys because you played really well,’ he reflected.

Fans took to social media to share their verdicts on the episode and some posted on X: ‘He knew they were a good team so wasn’t complacent. Focused.’

‘Shame unlucky team #TheChase.’

‘Made that last to the last few seconds #thechase.’

Accord to the Express, others wrote, ‘I’m gutted they didn’t win,’ and ‘So unfair.’

It comes after Monday’s instalment which saw Bradley Walsh welcome Karen, Carly, Richard and Danny.

The contestants played against Chaser Darragh Ennis, known as the Menace, in an attempt to win a cash prize.

However, when it was police officer Carly’s turn, some viewers were not so impressed.

The 27-year-old from Cumbria secured £3,000 in the cash builder round and before taking on the Chaser, Bradley asked Carly if her miniature dachshund Lenny would be watching.

‘I doubt it, he’ll probably be hiding behind a pillow embarrᴀssed by me,’ Carly replied, laughing.

She went for the lower offer of £1,000 during her head-to-head with Darragh and commented: ‘I’m going to be that girl, I’m going to take the £1,000.

‘I’m sorry guys but I’m not the brightest bulb in any box.’

Darragh supported her decision and said: ‘I’ve been where you’re standing and £3,000 was just the worst choice there. £1,000 or £43,000 were the only sensible options.’

Carly was then knocked out of the game after answering only one question correctly and she said: ‘It was always going to happen Bradley, lets be serious.’

The host commented: ‘I thought those were tricky head-to-heads, four, five really tricky questions.’

‘You will be sorely missed in the final,’ he added.

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV1 from 5pm and is available to stream on ITVX.
