Patsy swapped LA for the Celebrity Big Brother house this month as she appeared on the second series of the ITV reboot. 

The EastEnders actress was evicted from the house on Wednesday evening and spoke openly about missing her family during her time on the show. 

The star shares three children, Fenton, 24, Emilia, 23, and Bertie, 13, with her husband Richard and Charley Palmer Rothwell, 33, – her UK-based son with former partner Alfie Rothwell.

Speaking previously about how filming for EastEnders effected her and her family she described the show as ‘all-encompᴀssing’ and she enjoyed the family time when she left. 

She told The Times: ‘I’d left EastEnders because I’d been there a long time [since 1993], and I was getting offers for other things, TV and film. 

‘Then I had my son Fenton, and then Emilia, so it has always been career, kids, career, kids.

‘I never missed EastEnders because it was so all-encompᴀssing, so it was nice to have some family time for a bit. But I did love my time there.’

She previously explained how Emilia would often be quizzed by her schoolmates on her famous mother’s career, leading the school to let her have lunch early by herself so she could avoid it.

She explained: ‘All the other kids were driving her mad about me, saying things all the time. 

‘It was never mean stuff, and she was never bullied; she just found it all kind of overwhelming. 

‘Sometimes she’d say to me: “I just don’t know who my real friends are.”‘

Patsy gave a rather awkward interview on Late and Live on Wednesday evening as she shut down speculation that she wanted to leave the house early. 

As guest Charley Marlowe asked Patsy: ‘You obviously missed your family in there. Did you ever at one point think, I could leg it over that fence?’

Patsy replied: ‘Erm, no I didn’t want to walk.’ The guest then burst out laughing, but Patsy remained stony-faced.

She continued: ‘We’re all there to do a job and I wanted it to be good for them. In the beginning it was really tough for me to be in there.

‘We’d been through a lot, personally, before I went in. As certain energies left the house we all relaxed and we all got through stuff together.

‘It takes me a while to be fully relaxed with people I don’t know, I started to enjoy myself when I knew them more. Then I thought I didn’t want to go.’

Host Will said: ‘You ended on a high.’

The actress has been living in the States with her children and husband Richard for over ten years – relocating in 2014 when her time on EastEnders came to an end.

Patsy had returned to the UK before the fires broke out and said it was hard being so far away as the fires rage.

Patsy wrote on Instagram at the time: ‘My heart is broken. My brain is fried today looking at the devastating scenes of the fires AGAIN in my hometown. I just returned home to my home in case after the fires a couple of weeks ago and left on Saturday back to work in the UK and now this.

‘My family are safe but lots of my friends have lost their homes again which is extremely traumatic.

‘Being here so far away is really really hard. I’m praying and crying as I write this. I’m helpless here but praying hard Please reach out if you need anything. Richard and kids are there safe and evacuated. This is huge. Really wasn’t expecting this. Heartbroken. Stay safe.’
