Rebel Wilson stars in a new trailer for the upcoming movie Bride Hard, released on Wednesday.

The 45-year-old entertainer — who is participating in a health challenge — plays a secret agent who takes on the role of Maid of Honor in her best friend’s wedding in the action comedy.

Joining her on the silver screen are Anna Camp, Anna Chlumsky, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Stephen Dorff, Gigi Zumbado, and Justin Hartley.

In several scenes, Rebel dons a low-cut, off-the-shoulder, bright red bridesmaid gown that bares her cleavage.

Sharing the latest teaser, she wrote on social media, ‘This summer, you are invited to one unforgettable wedding. Grab your bride or die and see #BrideHard, only in theaters June 20.’

Fans were left divided over her latest role, with some complaining that she ‘is not an action star.’

One YouTuber commented, ‘I’m just confused… I’m sorry Rebel is not an action star. Her fight scenes I can tell are heavily edited and the stunt double did most of the work.’ 

Another weighed in, ‘Seriously, Rebel Wilson is not an action star. What a joke.’

Even Da’Vina caught flack, with a fan writing, ‘I can’t believe Oscar winner [Da’Vine] Joy Randolph is in this movie it’s so beneath her.’

But others expressed excitement and even defended Rebel.

‘This looks soo cheesy and I can’t wait to see it!!!!’ noted one happy fan.

Someone else defended her by adding to the conversation: ‘People saying rebel Wilson isn’t an actions star is just unnecessary.

‘She has acted [in] a successful action movie before. And also, you don’t have to be an action star before you do an action movie.’

The defense of Rebel continued, with another person sharing, ‘So many hate comments. Don’t watch it if you don’t want to. I’m a 100% WATCHING IT. REBEL AND ANNA,’ referencing her Pitch Perfect 3 co-star Camp.

In the upcoming film, it’s up to Rebel to save the day when a group of ruthless mercenaries crash the wedding celebrations and take guests hostage.

The movie was helmed by Con Air (1997) director Simon West.

Rebel is currently participating in a health challenge in which she’s eliminated chocolate and ice cream

Rebel dropped more than 70lbs back in 2021 after turning to Ozempic, and she still works hard to keep her weight down.

On Sunday she used Instagram to reveal what sweet treat she’s avoiding for the next six weeks as a health challenge.

She encouraged her 11 million followers to join her as she cuts out chocolate and ice cream. Uploading a brief video clip, the Hollywood mainstay said, ‘Who’s up for a six-week health challenge? I know I am because I’ve been really indulging over Easter.’

On Wednesday she dropped in for an update, sharing a clip of her riding a train in a beige cable knit sweater.

‘May or may not be on the train thinking of chocolate and ice-cream but NO I have not broken the challenge… but it is challenging!’ she wrote over the outtake.
