Martha Stewart has two grandchildren she seems to be very proud of.
On Tuesday evening the 83-year-old home improvement specialist was glowing as she took the kids on the red carpet.
They were attending the opening night of Stranger Things: The First Shadow at the Marquis Theatre in New York City.
They are the children of her 59-year-old daughter Alexis, who works as a writer, TV personality and radio host in NYC.
Their father is lawyer John R Cuti whom Alexis was wed to from 1997 until 2004. Truman was born in 2011 and Jude in 2012 via surrogate.
The kids have been seen before on the set of one of her cooking programs. In 2014 wrote of the image: ‘Jude and Truman came to visit yesterday on the TV set. Jude was dragging a suitcase, told us she was going to Africa.’

Also with them was her grandson named Jude
Ten years ago she spoke up about how Jude is a particularly worldly child.
She told People magazine: ‘The little girl is a genius speaking Spanish and English [and] she’s going into Mandarin now. And the little boy is very good in Spanish – very fluent!’
Stewart, a mother-of-one, loves to spend time with her daughter, and grandchildren, who are based in New York.
Alexis’ dad is Martha’s ex-husband Andrew Stewart.
Alexis underwent fertility treatments to conceive her two children.
In an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2007, she said she was spending up to $27,000 each month for IVF procedures and an additional $6,000 for medications.
At the time, Alexis had endured three failed embryo transfers.
‘When I have to think about my other options, then I will do that,’ she said. ‘But at the moment, I can only think about this option.’
Her mom ‘desperately’ wanted grandchildren and offered financial and emotional support.
‘She’s very supportive,’ Alexis said. ‘She tells me it will happen all the time.’
In 2011, after five years of fertility treatments, Alexis welcomed her first child at age 45, a daughter named Jude, who was born via gestational surrogate.
One year later, in 2012, Alexis welcomed her second child via gestational surrogate, a son named Truman.

‘Our relationship has always been a difficult mother-daughter relationship,’ Martha said of Alexis to People in 2020.
‘Difficult, but she would do anything for me, and I would do anything for her.’
In 2011, Alexis published a tell-all book, Whateverland: Learning to Live Here.
‘Martha does everything better! You can’t win,’ she wrote. ‘If I didn’t do something perfectly, I had to do it again. I grew up with a glue gun pointed at my head.’
When it came to holidays, Alexis said her mother was ‘not interested in being kid-friendly.’
‘She used to make me wrap my own presents,’ she recalled. ‘She would hand me things right before Christmas and say, ‘Now wrap these but don’t look inside.”
On Halloween: ‘There were no costumes. There was no anything. We turned off all the lights and pretended we weren’t home.’
Alexis also accused her mother of being a hoarder who had ‘a very hands-off approach to child rearing’ and wrote that she refused to buy her a bra when she hit puberty, among other things.

Martha is a very hands-on grandmother, and is often spotted around NYC with her grandchildren in tow in 2012
But they are close.
‘She’s her own person,’ Martha wrote in her daughter’s book.
‘She makes up her own mind. I sometimes try to offer advice, but if it’s not taken, so be it. She really did pay attention. She really does know how to do everything.’
Alexis grew up in both Manhattan and in Mᴀssachusetts’ Berkshires, where the family had a home, before attending boarding school in Vermont.
She later attended Barnard College, her mother’s alma mater, graduating with a degree in English.

She and Martha are ‘incredibly close’
While promoting her book in 2011, Alexis told Today’s Savannah Guthrie, ‘We’re incredibly close and we’re both very opinionated people. So while we can be together having a nice time we can also have an animated discussion slash argument about something. Because that’s normal. So if we agree on everything, how boring would that be?’
