Eva Longoria was a guest on Live With Kelly and Mark on Monday morning, where she discussed her recent move to Europe.

The 50-year-old Searching for Spain star splits her time between Mexico and Spain with husband José Bastón and their five-year-old son Santiago.

Longoria — who is a Corpus Christi, Texas native with Spanish heritage — revealed she was drawn to the Andalucía region of Spain.

It’s there where she enjoys chiringuitos, which are small beach bars and restaurants where people indulge in tapas and drinks.

‘I know that region the most because I’ve been going there for 20 years,’ the actress said to the morning show hosts. 

The former Desperate Housewives star also discussed the pᴀssing of Pope Francis, after she paid tribute to the beloved Catholic figure online.

‘I was so fortunate to meet him. He actually blessed Pepe and I right before we got married,’ she recalled, using her husband’s nickname.

Eva detailed, ‘We went to Rome and my husband was like, “Do you want to meet the Pope?” And I was like, “Yes!”‘

She remembered intently practicing the Spanish word for ‘holiness’ ahead of meeting the Spanish-speaking, first Pope of Latin heritage.

But when the moment came to say it, she hilariously reverted to English, greeting him with, ‘Hello, Your Holiness.’ 

Using her Instagram platform on Monday morning, Longoria shared pH๏τos from the special day, adding a heartfelt caption.

‘Rest in Peace, Your Holiness Pope Francis. Thank you for being an ally to many of us and speaking up for the marginalized. Your compᴀssion, kindness and humility will always be remembered,’ she wrote in tribute.

Eva has been busy promoting her forthcoming Searching for Spain series, which premieres on CNN on April 27.

It will follow her as she embarks on a gastronomic pilgrimage through Madrid, San Sebastian, Barcelona, Seville and more, where she explores her ties to the country and shares the hidden gems that have helped make it a ‘personal favorite.’

In the first look trailer, released in February, Eva explained that her ancestors left Spain four centuries ago.

‘Eleven generations ago, one of my ancestors left Spain for the new world and new life,’ she said.

‘Four hundred years later, I’m back to see how the land and its people have created one of the world’s most exciting cuisines,’ the actress teased.
