Fans of the top rated HBO/MAX show The Pitt are only just learning that one of the young stars of the medical drama has an A-list Hollywood connection.
Taylor Dearden, 32, stars Dr. Melissa King in the hit series led by ER alum Noah Wyle, 53.
And if something seemed familiar about the actress, it’s because she is the daughter of Emmy winner Bryan Cranston, 69, and his wife, Robin Dearden, 71.
The USC graduate chose to use her mother’s name professionally, so as not to use the family name to an unfair advantage.
‘She’s very independent,’ Cranston told GQ in 2023, ‘And very conscientious of not having any ᴀssociation or hint thereof of nepotism,’ although Dearden did have a small role as a child in her dad’s show Breaking Bad as as Sad Faced Girl.
‘If Taylor Dearden from “The Pitt” keeps this up, Bryan Cranston is going to be the second-best actor in his own family,’ wrote a fan on Facebook.

The Pitt focuses on the lives and patients of doctors in a busy Emergency Department at a hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Each episode focuses on one hour in the day, similar to the way 24 was presented.
The show which debuted January 9, has already been renewed for season two.
‘I’ve never played a character like Mel ever,’ she said in an interview with Pop Culture Plugged In.
‘Usually I am cast as Santos, the sarcastic, kind of punky person,’ she explained, referring to Isa Briones’ sometimes over enthusiastic character. ‘So, it was fun to play something completely different for me,’ adding that the medical aspect of the show was ‘daunting.’
Fans of the show have connected with Dearden’s portrayal of the second year resident with a neurodivergent sister.

Dearden said she tells everyone she meets about her neurodivergence, ‘because there are certain social behaviors that might seem odd. And so I usually have to tell everyone I meet, like, in case I do this, just so you know, it’s not on purpose.’
