Teddi Mellencamp is tearfully facing her ‘debilitating’ health battle.
The 43-year-old former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who has been fighting stage four cancer, broke down in tears while discussing her three children this week.
On top of her immunotherapy treatment, she is also balancing co-parenting with estranged husband Edwin Arroyave. The two share daughter Slate, 12, son Cruz, 10, and daughter Dove, five.
While discussing with Entertainment Tonight how she and Arroyave are moving forward, she began crying as she recalled explaining to him: ‘I’m like, “I don’t think you understand the debilitating pain that I feel some days thinking about the fact that, like, my kids…”‘
‘That is extremely frightening. My kids are young,’ she told reporter Nischelle Turner.
Teddi remembered a particularly emotional moment when she was in the hospital after undergoing emergency brain surgery to remove several tumors.

‘I was like, “I feel like today might be Dove’s birthday,”‘ she recalled saying to her husband. ‘And Edwin’s like, “It is. It’s her party today that you planned.'”
Tears streamed down her face as she went on to say, ‘And I was like, “Can they please just let me out for today?”‘

She credited Edwin with providing the perfect response: ‘We’ll throw another one.’
The former reality television personality finished radiation earlier this month, and now her treatment consists of immunotherapy.
On a recent episode of The Eds podcast, 47-year-old Arroyave opened up to co-host Eddie Judge about his instinct to be there for Teddi even though their marriage is ending.
He remembered when he first found out about her diagnosis and said his first thought thought was to get her to feel ‘confident.’
The father-of-four, who also has 16-year-old daughter Isabella from a previous relationship, said he also wanted to get their relationship to a ‘good place’ and make sure their three kids were emotionally secure.

Teddi described the thought of not being around to see her children grow up ‘extremely frightening’
‘No matter what, I will always love Teddi and she’s been a big part of my life. And I like taking care of people, it’s just what I do. So it wasn’t even like, a question,’ Edwin said of being by his wife’s side throughout her health ordeal.
Referring to their paused divorce proceedings, he shared, ‘The first thing is just making sure that we take care of this first.
‘And all that other stuff — we’ll see what happens with time. But for right now, it’s just more of like, how do we take care of you? And how can we get you back to normal as fast as [possible]? That other stuff will figure itself out.’
Taking to social media that day, he shared pH๏τos of Teddi’s most recent magazine cover, which included the heart-wrenching quote, ‘I’m fighting for my life.’
‘I’m endlessly proud of your resilience and courage,’ he said in an Instagram Story post. ‘The way you keep pushing forward, no matter the setback, is nothing short of inspiring.’
His heartfelt note continued, ‘You show up every single day to face this battle head-on, and even on the hardest days, you still find a way to get things done. Your strength is remarkable — and so are you.’
In a second post, he added, ‘Strong isn’t a big enough word to describe what a fighter @teddimellencamp is.’
Elsewhere, he wrote, ‘I know she is helping so many by sharing her story.’
