An acclaimed BBC comedy is returning to screens in weeks for its last ever comedy series.

Man Like Mobeen, created and starring Guz Khan, sees former drug dealer Mobeen try to lead an honest life in Small Heath Birmingham after years of leading an unlawful lifestyle.

The show first aired back in 2017 and has seen four series so far.

Now, it has been confirmed that the comedy is making a come back for another instalment – but it will be the very last one.

The fifth season will air on May 1 at 9pm on BBC Three.

‘In the final series, Mobeen must save Aqsa but can he even get a pᴀssport or a plane ticket to the UAE? And will he convince his friends to join him?’ the synopsis reads.

Creator and star Guz previously revealed he had only written the series for fans and that he would not be making another.

He explained: ‘I can’t even shop at Aldi without someone popping out from behind the bread aisle and asking me when there’s going to be more Man Like Mobeen.’

‘So, for you, and only for you, here’s one, final, very last, never to be done again season of Man Like Mobeen.

‘Please don’t make me make any more, I got loads of kids to raise and that.’

For the final season, filming has started last year in Coventry and Turkey.

Across the six new episodes, which will air on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in 2025, the series promises a finale which quenches the thirst of what follows Mobeen’s attack.

The fifth season will see Mobeen out of prison and reunited with the gang.

The series is written and co-created by Guz and Andy, who together were named Best Writer three years running at the RTS Midlands Awards.

Man Like Mobeen previously won Best Comedy at the 2020 Broadcast Digital Awards and was nominated for Best Comedy at the 2021 BAFTAs.

Series 4 achieved an average audience of 1.1m and was the top performing BBC Three comedy of 2023.
