Ortega accessorized with a pair of dramatic black sunglᴀsses and some silver and diamond jewelry from Solo for Diamonds. She left her hair down, and opted for a a natural makeup look with a ɴuᴅᴇ lip.
The Beetlejuice sequel has produced some fun ensembles in the spirit of the film’s campy, gothic style, as well as the original antagonist’s iconic pinstripe suit.
On August 14, Ortega wore a dark green vinyl dress with a sculptural bodice and a visible mend resembling Frankenstein’s scar to a fan event for the film in Mexico City. According to Hola!, the look was done as a collaboration between her stylist, Enrique Melendez, and Saudi Arabian label Lurline.
On August 18, she wore another striped suit and skirt look—this time in dark blue, with a pair of sheer black тιԍнтs in a different stripe pattern. She had her hair up and wore a pair of ultra-high heel black boots.
On August 19, she stepped out again in New York City wearing a black-and-white customized Agent Provocateur corset and a black skirt under a black leather jacket.
In a recent interview with Fandango, Ortega shared how odd it was seeing costar Michael Keaton in his full Beetlejuice makeup and costume on set.
“It was actually quite intimidating, because I’ve been saying that it was the first time that I felt like I really didn’t recognize somebody,” Ortega said. “And I think also it was strange because [his] hair and makeup, everything, [he] looked the exact same, so it was really confusing mentally to be in that place. I felt like I was dissociating and I had to stare at my hands to make sure I was like an actual person.”
She added that she was a bit nervous about joining a sequel to such a well-known film and beloved cast—but that her costar Winona Ryder drew her in quickly.
“I felt like everything that we were doing felt like we were all in on the same joke or on the same page or had the same ideas,” Ortega explained. “It just felt like a free and collaborative space, but Winona and I—I swear we just started talking one day on set and then never stopped. You could find us in the same position four hours later never having moved. She’s the best.”
