Jelly Roll gave a glimpse at his fitness regime amid his nearly 200lb weight loss while running in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The Wild Ones hitmaker, 40 – who recently looked unrecognizable at Pat McAfee’s Big Night Aht event last week – was joined by his personal trainer while jogging on a path in the cooler weather.

It comes shortly after the performer offered an update in his health journey and shared that he has dropped from 540lbs down to 357lbs.

The star – whose real name is Jason DeFord – kept it casual wearing a pair of black shorts as well as a black, hooded jacket that was zipped up at the front.

He additionally slipped into a pair of comfy black sneakers while a backwards cap was placed on top of his head for a finishing touch.

Jelly Roll has seemingly kept up with running after he took part in the 2 Bears 5k Marathon in Los Angeles last year.

In the midst of training, the country star told People in April 2024: ‘I’ve been really kicking a**, man. I’m doing two to three miles a day, four to six days a week. 

‘I’m doing 20 to 30 minutes in the sauna, six minutes in a cold plunge every day. I’m eating healthy right now.’

The singer continued, ‘I feel really good. I was thinking, I plan on losing another 100, 100-and-something (pounds). If I feel this good down this weight, man, I can only imagine what I’m going to feel like by the time I go on tour.’ 

And last week, Jelly Roll revealed that he had surpᴀssed his goal of wanting to drop 100lbs while making an appearance at Pat McAfee’s Big Night Aht event in Pittsburgh last week on April 9. 

While appearing onstage during the live show, the music artist also showcased his slimmer figure. 

He expressed during a candid interview that he had dropped from 540lbs to 357lbs and also shared, ‘I’m gonna lose another 100lbs and go skydiving with my wife in Sweden baby!’

The star is married to Bunnie XO and the couple have openly spoken about their weight loss journeys. 

Also last year in October, Bunnie revealed she had been ‘micro-dosing’ the weight-loss medication tirzepatide, but was still ‘hungry as s**t.’

The country star’s spouse admitted she hadn’t yet experienced any appeтιтe suppression, but felt side effects, confessing: ‘I s**t my brains out.’

She lifted the lid on her experience with the drug on an episode of her podcast. Tirzepatide is anti-diabetic medication used to help treat type 2 diabetes as well as help aid in weight loss.

In a conversation with wife Bunnie XO on her Dumb Blonde podcast late last year in December, Jelly Roll said he wants to be on the cover of Men’s Health magazine.

‘I wanna be on the cover of Men’s Health by March of 2026. That’s my new goal. I wanna have one of the biggest transformations.’

He added that he was ‘so glad’ to be having the discussion in front of an audience. ‘I did this publicly for a reason. I wanna be honest about my struggles with it with people.’ 

The hitmaker explained about body image and fame: ‘I think that people that become as big as I became, when they lose the weight, they’re kind of ashamed. They’re so ashamed that they go hide and lose the weight. 

‘And then they come back out [and] they don’t really know how to interact with the world looking different or feeling different, and they kinda gotta find their whole new way. I wanted to lose it in front of everybody. I wanted to talk about it.’

To slim down, the two-time Grammy nominee has also taken up boxing, basketball and walking arenas.

The singer’s nutritionist, Ian Larios, previously noted that his client’s favorite pre-show snack is a banana topped with Manuka honey, stevia and dark chocolate shavings.

After his gig, Jelly enjoys Nashville H๏τ chicken, which the nutritionist has been making healthier by ‘taking away the oil and the batter from it.’

The chicken is then served with French fries coated in bone brother, which ‘ups the protein in it, but it also makes it have that nice crunch to it, because we air fry it.

‘So it tricks your brain into thinking that this is, like, that nice greasy Nashville deep-fried H๏τ chicken. He’s gonna feel like he’s eating at home,’ he added. ‘It’s healthy. It’s air-fried. It’s full of protein, and it helps him stay on track.’

And while talking to People last year, Jelly Roll got candid about his struggles with food addiction. 

‘The battle was with the food addiction, changing the way I’ve looked at food for the last 39 years,’ the singer told the outlet. 

‘I’ve never had a healthy relationship with food, so that was the hard part. But once you get into that discipline and commitment, it’s like an avalanche. Once that little snowball started rolling, it was on its way.’ 

During a past appearance on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast in June 2024, the star explained that his weight loss was also due to wanting to possibly expand his family with Bunnie XO in the future.

‘My wife and I are talking about having a baby, and it really made me realize that at almost 40, I was like, it means I got to live to at least 60. I got to see this kid into college.’ 

He added, ‘I thought that every problem I ever had in life would be solved if I ever found any kind of success and stability.

‘And then I started to get success and stability and still none of those problems are solved. My plan was never to be 60. It was to be, like, 55. But now I’m like, “Well, I’d like to see my 60s.” You know what I mean? And that really lit it up.’
