He’s one of the biggest icons in music, and no doubt counts many industry legends as close friends.
But Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood has formed one of showbiz’s more unlikely friendships, having become pals with Steps icon Ian ‘H’ Watkins.
Ian, 48, who rose to fame as a member of the iconic 90s group, told The Sun that he is close friends with Ronnie’s wife Sally, and their twins enjoy playdates together.
The singer explained he’s known Sally for 20 years, and as their twins were born just a month apart, they regularly meet up.
However, he admitted he doesn’t know if Ronnie, 77, is even aware Steps exist, but said he does like to refer him by his stage alter-ego H.
He said: ‘I don’t expect Ronnie to know who Steps are. But whenever I see him, he’s like, ”H!!”, I’m like, ”Ha!… Hi Ronnie’. It’s kind of bizarre, but he’s a lovely, lovely man.’

Asked whether he’ll be invited Ronnie to Steps’ next show, Ian said: ‘We’ll teach him some moves.’
Steps are set to return to the stage in 2027 to celebrate the iconic band’s 30th Anniversary, and this summer their jukebox music Here&Now, will be touring the UK.
Ian welcomed his twins Macsen and Cybi, via surrogate in March 2016, but split from his partner Craig Ryder just a year later.
Ronnie and Sally have been married since 2012 after exchanging vows during an intimate ceremony at the Dorchester H๏τel in London following a six-month romance, with Rod Stewart serving as best man.
The pair met at her place of work, the Theatre Royal, nine years beforehand. They went on to welcome daughters Gracie Jane and Alice Rose in 2016.
Sally recently opened up about life with the Rolling Stones rocker and gave an insight into their happy marriage.
She told The Mirror: ‘We spend a lot of time together – we get on really well. I feel we’re very lucky, because we love being at home with the girls and watching telly and going to nice restaurants. We do all of that anyway.’
Meanwhile, Sally told that far from living a rock and roll lifestyle, the couple love nothing better than staying up late to read books and watch the TV, adding that they’re ‘night owls’.

Sharing a candid glimpse into their day to day lives, she continued: ‘I take the girls to school every day, but Ronnie at 2,3,4,5 in the morning, goes to sleep.
‘I think because he’s so programmed to go on stage until 10 or 11 o’clock at night, so he has to wind down after that. I’ve always worked at night in the theatres. We’re just naturally night people. Normally Ronnie gets up at midday.’
But while the couple are perfectly content with life as it is, Sally – who is Ronnie’s third wife – told how she wouldn’t rule out the couple renewing their vows down the line.
She said: ‘It’s a great idea. We did a little thing when we were five years married. We went to our local church, and did it ourselves with the girls, and now we’re at 12. I guess we’ve been busy with the twins.’
Last year, Sally praised her musician partner, but admitted that she wished they didn’t have such a big age gap.
She told The Telegraph: ‘He’s on my level completely. He’s a very nice and caring person. Oh God, don’t use the word ‘nice’, it’s so boring. He’s very funny, kind and affectionate and welcoming.’
Discussing their age gap, she said: ‘Um, well, I know (the age gap’s) there. And I wish it wasn’t, but it is. I think I had to say: ‘I can’t do this because of the age’.
