Britain’s Got Talent announces HUGE change to live semi-finals in ITV first – and it’s set to cause chaos

Britain’s Got Talent has announced a huge change to the live semi-finals in an ITV first and it’s set to cause chaos.

For 18 series, the beloved talent show has mostly stuck to a similar format during the compeтιтive semi-final rounds.

Presented by Ant McPartlin, 49, and Declan Donnelly, 49, Britain’s Got Talent has seen a range of impressive acts so far this year.

Judges Simon Cowell, 65, Amanda Holden, 54, Alesha Dixon, 46, and Bruno Tonioli, 69, have been giving their verdicts on the variety of talents that have taken the stage.

But now, in a mᴀssive twist, the Golden Buzzer will be introduced to the live semi-finals.

Just one judge, or Ant and Dec, will be given the iconic buzzer. which will give them the immense power to send just one act straight through to the grand finale each week.

It would mean the hopeful contestant is one step closer to winning the compeтιтion and securing the huge £250,000 cash prize and a Royal Variety Performance.

Each of the five semi-finals will air each weekend on Saturday’s from April 26, except for the fourth, which will be broadcast on Sunday, May 18.

It will see eight acts competing every weekend for the Golden Buzzer to be pressed.

At the end, the public will also vote for their favourite act that night, which will secure them a place in the final.

It comes after another shocking twist happened on Britain’s Got Talent last week when the roles were reversed and Simon Cowell received the golden buzzer.

The judge took to the stage after magician act The Hacker settled into Simon’s seat on the panel and began instructing the star as he performed the act on his behalf.

The Hacker, whose idenтιтy and voice were disguised, had the audience and fellow judges in hysterics as he mimicked Simon’s iconic lines before hitting the golden buzzer at the end of the impressive mind reading and AI act.

Simon was left shocked as the gold confetti poured from the ceiling and fans were left questioning whether it counted as a ‘real’ golden buzzer moment.

Sharing the never seen before moment on Twitter, BGT penned: ‘Congrats, Simon!  Is this a BGT first?! Simon just got The Hacker’s Golden Buzzer!’

Other fans were overjoyed by the hilarious twist as they wrote: ‘Simon is straight through to the LIVE SEMI FINALS… as an ACT!!’;

‘I’m not sure what the flip just happened but I love it.’; ‘My favourite act of the series so far, very funny’;

‘Simon got the buzzer that was About time loooioool’; ‘Best golden buzzer so far’;

‘Simon’s got the Golden Buzzer omg’; ‘The hacker giving Simon the golden buzzer was absolutely brilliant’.
