Christina Ricci shared a deeply unsettling story from her childhood that started with innocent prank calls and ended in something much darker.

During Thursday’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the Yellowjackets star, now 45, revealed that back in 1991, when she was just 11, she and a group of girlfriends had a habit of dialing up 1-800-Mattress for laughs.

‘We prank-called them so much we ended up having a regular guy we’d talk to named Jared,’ Ricci said, laughing at the absurdity in hindsight. 

But the lighthearted mischief quickly soured. 

‘One of these idiot girls gave Jared her address,’ Ricci revealed. ‘And he sent a picture of his penis in the mail.’

She added: ‘It was like a printed-out pH๏τo from CVS or something.’

Ricci, who at the time was just making her breakthrough as Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family, said neither the police nor parents were notified. 

Instead, the girls just stopped calling, bringing their prank war to an abrupt and unsettling end. 

While the anecdote had its dark side, Ricci and Kimmel managed to find levity in the memory.

Kimmel quipped that the man ‘invented the d— pic, really,’ to which Ricci replied, ‘It certainly was the first d— pic I saw.”

‘I mean, that’s a lot of effort. He gets an ‘A’ for effort, and he also gets a ‘P’ for pervert,’ Kimmel added.

Ricci also reflected on how wildly different her childhood was from her son Freddie’s.

 The 10-year-old, whom she shares with ex-husband James Heerdegen, is fascinated by her analog upbringing.

‘We saw a pay phone once and he was like, “Oh my god, Mom, are those the phones you used to have when you were little?”‘ she recalled.

His verdict? ‘It takes a long time.’

Freddie is also ‘very obsessed’ with her nostalgic tales of sleepovers—a ‘90s ritual that sounds almost mythical to kids raised on streaming.

‘You’d go over, hang out, the mom would drive you to Blockbuster to pick two movies, then you’d hit the grocery store for snacks, stay up all night watching movies, and finish with Saturday Night Live,’ Ricci said. 

‘He thinks that sounds so fun.’

Ricci, who also has a 3-year-old daughter named Cleo with husband Mark Hampton, seems to have pᴀssed down her love for all things retro—though some of her childhood memories still come with a darker edge.
