This Morning viewers were left lost for words after the worth of a Simpsons fan’s memorabilia collection was revealed on the ITV show on Friday.

Hosts Dermot O’Leary, 51, and Sian Welby, 38, welcomed money making expert Dan Hatfield to the studio to value some guest’s incredible collectibles.

Glyn from Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, appeared live on the programme via a video link to show off all the items from his collection from the past 40 years.

The cartoon fan gave a very cheeky grin as he displayed some of his collectables, including Frosted Krusty O’s, a life-size figurine of Homer Simpson and loads of branded clothing that the crew have worn over the years.

Dermot confessed that he thought the collection was around £10,000, but he got a total shock when he found out the true value.

Dan said: ‘So Glyn, I reckon your items, all in all, are about £50,000 to £60,000.’

Many flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their shock at the revelation.

One wrote on the social media platform: ‘Wtf £60k #thismorning.’

’50 to 60 grand #thismorning,’ with a gif of popular children’s character Elmo fainting.

‘It’s worth 50-60 thousand and you spent 49,999-59,999 on it.’

Meanwhile Dermot was keen to know if he would ever sell his incredible collection.  as Glyn confessed: ‘I don’t think I’ll ever sell it.

‘I think it will be handed down now to the grandchildren and obviously if I go, they’ll have to deal with it all then.

‘The programme has been out for so long it’s just, they’re bringing out new lines every year and it adds it to the collection.

‘I’ve still got beer cans, drinks cans from 1990, I’ve got the advent calendar with the chocolates in it from 1994/1995.’

Dan chimed in: ‘Even off my own back I’d really love to come and visit you when I’m in Wales next.

‘It’s such an amazing collection.’

Dermot joked: ‘Glyn watch out. Dan will make you an offer you can’t refuse!’

Glyn replied: ‘There is always a Welsh welcome for Dan in the Valleys.’

Dan revealed that the thing he loved about the collection was that it is so synonymous with the 90s.

He said: ‘The 90s are so in right now.  Achingly in right now.

‘Comedical portrayal of America. It’s so popular, The Simpsons, the longest running animated show ever.

‘The longest running sitcom and the longest running scripted programme in the world.

‘We’re talking about something that crosses boundaries and borders.

‘Everyone loves The Simpsons. Still popular now.’

The Simpsons, created by Matt Groening, hit our screens in 1989.

Over the years there have been 784 episodes over 36 seasons.

And just last week fans of the sitcom rejoiced when they found out that Fox have confirmed a further four seasons will be hitting Disney+.

This Morning airs on ITV weekdays from 10am.
