Netflix fans have raved about an ‘uncomfortable’ supernatural horror movie that made their ‘skin crawl’. 

Blockbuster Truth Or Dare was first released back in 2018 but was heavily edited to cut out some of the gore and tone it down to make it suitable for a PG 13 rating in America.

It has since grown a huge fan base and is available to stream on Netflix for UK viewers, in an ‘extended version’.

‘Dark fears and sinister forces collide when friends play a twisted game of Truth Or Dare in this extended version of the Blumhouse thriller,’ the synopsis reads.

Starring Pretty Little Liars Lucy Hale, Teen Wolf actor Tyler Posey and Violett Beane, amongst others, the supernatural horror film is listed on Netflix UK as Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare: Extended Director’s Cut.

Many fans have shared their verdicts on the original movie over the years and one posted on Google reviews: ‘I really liked it. It made me crawl in my skin because it was so uncomfortable to see, and a good type of frightening for me.

However, not everyone has been impressed by Truth Or Dare and one viewer wrote: ‘This was not a very amusing movie to watch. The acting was lousy, the effects were low in quality, and the whole movie made it very obvious it was on a low budget.

‘And the plot of the movie is something anyone could think of in practically seconds. I don’t recommend this at all.’

‘This movie has a good premise, although, is executed very badly. the ending is awful and will make you upset for wasting an hour and a half. if I could rate 0 stars, I would.’

And critics have only rated it a mediocre 15% on Rotten Tomatoes.

There was even talks of a sequel at one point, but COVID played a part in preventing the production. 

Director Jeff Wadlow previosuly told Variety: ‘We actually wrote a ‘Truth Or Dare’. In the first one, there’s about nine characters and seven of them die. 

‘I didn’t want to do a ‘Final Destination’-style sequel or ‘Truth or Dare’ and it’s happening again to a different group of people. It just seemed kind of boring to me.’ 

He added: ‘They had this idea: ‘Wouldn’t it be funny if ‘Truth or Dare’ happened to us while we were on vacation together, the actors?’ The joke became that the sequel should be called ‘Truth or Big Bear.’ I thought that was kind of a brilliant idea.’
