A new Netflix comedy has been called ‘truly beautiful’ and has fans demanding a second season.
Canadian series North Of North launched in its home country on CBC back in January and proved to be a hit with viewers.
The eight-episode series hit Netflix on Thursday making it available for wider audiences.
North Of North delves into the story of a young Inuk woman called Siaja (Anna Lambe) as she attempts to ‘reinvent herself in her tiny Arctic hometown,’ according to the synopsis.
Created by Stacey Aglok MacDonald and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril it also stars Maika Harper and Braeden Clarke amongst others.
The show has received raving reviews from fans since its launch earlier this year and some have praised its representation of Indigenous communities in Canada.

One posted on Google reviews: ‘This show is truly beautiful. Watching it made me realise how little representation there has been for Indigenous peoples, especially for those in the North.
‘It is incredible to see a show with a majority Indigenous cast, set in the North, and actually centred around Indigenous culture and language. This is one of my all time favourite shows and we’re only 6 episodes in!

Sci-fi series Resident Alien first aired back in 2021 and follows extraterrestrial Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle (Alan Tudyk) after he crashed-landed onto Earth on a mission to destroy the human race.
Based in Colorado, the alien soon becomes enthralled by human beings and instead of exterminating, forms connections with them instead.
Harry even goes as far as trying to defend the planet from alien threats.
Based on a comic book series with the same name by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, Resident Alien has three seasons so far, with a fourth currently in the works.
North Of North is available to watch on Netflix.
