Saturday Night Live star Cecily Strong has welcomed her first child with her fiancé Jack after a years-long fertility battle.
The fan-favorite comedian, who went through IVF in order to have her bundle of joy, gave birth to a baby daughter on April 2, 2025.
Strong shared the happy news with fans via Instagram on Thursday, April 10.
She posted a pH๏τo of her daughter in a bᴀssinet surrounded by her dog on one side and Cecily laying on a bed looking exhausted on the other side.
‘Me and my girls. It’s been a week and a day with my beautiful squirmy baby girl. I recognize all her little squirms and kicks from when she was on the other side of me and now I get to say “see what I was talking about!,”‘ her lengthy caption began.
‘She makes Robert Deniro faces and snorts when she is super determined on the boob. She’s gonna be stronger than me in about a week.’

Cecily continued: ‘Her squeaks and sighs are my favorite noises on earth. Born with a full head of dark hair which made me scream “whoo hoo!” while pushing.
‘And I’ve been screaming Whoo hoo every day since because she’s absolutely perfect and I won the lottery,’ the SNL star gushed.

The Shmigadoon actress went on to thank the team of medical professionals that got her to motherhood.
‘It was such a relatively easy birth with a glorious epidural that I forgot I’d still have to recover afterward from what feels like was the Muay Thai fighter from White Lotus kicking the crap out of my cooch.’
Cecily then wrote about having to let go of her thought that she’d get back on her Peloton right away, recognizing that she had to take the time to heal before calling the day of her daughter’s birth ‘World Changing Forever Day.’
The besotted new mother, continued, ‘I’m so in love and so tired it’s like the greatest dream but it’s real.
She went on to praise her fiancé Jack, whom she’s been dating ever since they met at Christmas Party in 2019 and he went home with her afterwards.
‘John is the best dad I could ever have imagined (he is a diapering/swaddling/bottle washing/breakfast cooking/medicine picker upper/tech support with Baby Brezza handling/dog cuddling so she never feels left out/breastfeeding and pumping helping pro and is at this moment wearing the baby and listening to classical music for babies) and best partner I could have imagined (this man hand fed me crispy rice from Blue Ribbon Sushi in the hospital).

‘Sorry for the run on sentences – I’ve called the pediatrician “the vet” almost 35 times. I love you ESM,’ she concluded.
Cecily announced her pregnancy in November 2024, almost a year after she and Jack got engaged in December 2023.
Having conceived through IVF, Cecily has spent a lot of time in doctor’s waiting rooms and offices.
‘I’ve been in lots of waiting rooms with other women throughout my life,’ she wrote on Instagram when she announced her pregnancy.
‘Feeling terrified and lonely all those years ago at a clinic in California, to feeling frustrated and anxious in fertility offices in New York the past couple of years, to giddily talking everyone’s ear off and wishing everyone around me good luck like I was Forrest Gump the day of my transfer.’
Cecily previously wrote about how she and Jack met in her 2020 memoir This Will All Be Over Soon.
She shared that she met Jack at a Christmas party in 2019, but it came at an inopportune time, as she was still grieving the then-recent death of her cousin Owen.
‘At first I thought it was so difficult to meet someone right as I was losing someone I loved so much. I knew he’d have to be patient with me,’ she wrote in an excerpt published by Vulture.

But Jack ended up being exactly as supportive as Cecily needed him to be at that difficult time.
‘He’d have to let me grieve. It would be easier not to even try during that process,’ she continued.
‘But grieving for Owen was like nothing I’d ever experienced, and I promised Owen and myself to continue to let all that love be there along with the sadness.
‘So when Jack leaves that night, after the talk, I say, “I think you were a gift to me from Owen.” And I like thinking of it that way,’ she wrote.
Cecily is best known for stint as an SNL cast member from 2012 to 2022, which made her the longest-running woman in the cast.
Following her departure, she joined Keegan-Michael Key on the Apple TV+ series Schmigadoon, which was a parody of classic musical films.
Apple announced in January that it would not renew the series for a third season, though the show’s creators have said they are trying to shop it around to other networks and streamers to continue.
