ITV newsreader Paul Brand has returned to work after alarming viewers with his ‘dodgy eye’ on Monday evening.
The journalist, 38, took to Instagram to address his health and let fans know that he was okay after the telly appearance.
Paul hasn’t let his sore eye stop him from work and the channel’s ITV Politics and ITV News Instagram pages shared a clip of him from their show Talking Politics.
They captioned the post: ‘Back in 2020 we asked Keir Starmer “Trump or Putin” and he responded “Neither”. What does he say now?’
At the start of the clip, with a still very noticeably red eye, Paul says: ‘Here’s what Kier Starmer said five years ago…’
A video of the editor and the Prime Minister was then played out from January 2020, followed by Paul chatting with Robert Peston about the old clip.

The journalist was forced to address his health in a social media post after sparking concern with his appearance live on air on Monday evening
Paul worried fans earlier this week when he was presenting News at 10 on ITV.
But fans rushed to X, formerly known as Twitter, to point out how one of his eyes looked redder than usual.
One asked on the platform: ‘Has Paul Brand had an allergic reaction / hayfever reaction in his right eye? #ITVNews.’
The editor decided to take to Instagram to explain what had happened.
Sharing a selfie of himself with one of his eyes looking a little sore, Paul said: ‘For those asking, the dodgy eye is just a product of a toddler’s grubby fingers.
‘Hopefully less red tomorrow.’
Paul is currently the UK editor of ITV News, and has held that role since 2021.
He has worked with the channel for a number of years, starting off his career as a production journalist at ITV Wales in 2008.

Paul later worked as a political correspondent for ITV Yorkshire and ITV Tyne Tees & Border.
He joined ITV News in 2016 as a political correspondent and has also presented the current affairs programme Tonight for the past three years, as well as Good Morning Britain occasionally.
Paul is married to Joe Cuddeford and the pair have a son.
Over the years he has been nominated and won awards for his work.
Some include Broadcaster of the Year at the 2019 PinkNews awards.
He also won Political Journalist of the Year at the RTS Television Journalism Awards in 2023.
This isn’t the first time that viewers have shared their concerns over a presenter on their TV screens.
Earlier this year Clive Myrie, 60, worried fans after many noticed that he had a swollen eye while he was hosting BBC News at Six.
As he read out the latest reports from around the world back in January, fans took to X to share their concern.
They wrote: ‘@BBCNews is Clive Myrie ok? His left eye is droopy??’; ‘What’s wrong with Clive Myrie’s eye tonight?’; ‘Something wrong with Clive Myrie’s left eye @BBCNews?’

The newsreader, 60, has presented the weekday news bulletin on BBC One for the past decade, but sparked a flood of concern during the latest live broadcast
‘Just noticed that Clive Myrie has a slight droop in his left eyelid. Has that always been there or has he had a stroke recently?’; ‘What’s Clive Myrie done to his eye’.
However, Clive soon took to X to clear up any fears, explaining he was just suffering from a non-serious infection as he thanked fans for their concern.
In his typical humorous tone, the Mastermind host quipped that he had wanted to wear an eyepatch, but had been denied by bosses because he resembled a pirate.
He wrote: ‘Happy N.Year everyone and thank you all for your concern over my left eye. It’s nothing serious, just an infection.
‘I did think about wearing an eye patch, but the boss said no! A bit like Long John Silver.
‘He wasn’t having any of it! Cheers.’
