Teddi Mellencamp would like for her fans to focus on the positive rather than the negative as she fights for her life. 

The reality star, 43, who has been battling melanoma and recently had tumors removed from her brain and lungs, revealed how disheartened she was by an Instagram user’s comment about her stage four cancer diagnosis. 

She shared a screensH๏τ of the remark to her Instagram Stories and said these particular comments make her ‘really sad.’  

‘This is so heartbreaking. Typically, stage four cancer is terminal especially with metastasis,’ the commenter wrote. ‘Praying that Teddi heals and is an outlier.’

Stage 4 cancer does have the highest mortality rates compared to those caught in an early stage, but it is not always terminal.

‘These kind of comments make me really sad,’ the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum wrote alongside the comment on Thursday. ‘I know people are trying to help but heart breaking for me to read.

The personal trainer said she knew the odds, but wanted to remain hopeful  

‘Of course I know the chances but I truly believe with my whole heart, I will beat this and watch my kids graduate,’ she maintained.

She then added teasingly that she would be around for years so she could ‘vent on the pod and have everyone get mad at me. Annoy my siblings by reminding everyone I am the favorite. Etc.’

Teddi shares three children — daughters Slate, 12; and Dove, five; and son Cruz, 10 — with her estranged husband Edwin Arroyave, who has been living with her at their home to help care for their children as she undergoes cancer treatments.

Teddi also looked on the bright side on Thursday when she posted a video of herself ringing a bell at the hospital, which is a tradition after a patient completes treatment. 

‘Ringing the bell can signify a major phase of treatment — today was my last day of radiation 5 more rounds of immunotherapy to go. Love you all for the kind messages,’ she wrote next to the clip in her Instagram Stories. 

Since then fans have been offering messages of hope to the wellness coach. 

‘This woman is a fighter!! I can’t imagine and yet she’s still on her horses and living life with purpose. We can all learn something from Teddi,’ wrote one commenter.

‘Sending a positive note, my father in law has been on Keytruda immunotherapy for stage IV melanoma since 2014 and doing well today,’ wrote a fan, adding, ‘he’s the longest living patient out of the trial patients when Keytruda was first introduced. God is good, keep your eyes on the sky!’

‘God bless ♥️✝️. I am a brain & ocular lymphoma cancer survivor! Your a Warrior!!!!’ penned a woman who had been in a similar situation. 

When a fan commented that stage 4 cancer is ‘typically terminal,’ Mellencamp responded by saying she found that kind of comment ‘heart breaking’

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum revealed on Wednesday she had completed radiation, but would continue to receive immunotherapy treatments

Mellencamp and her estranged husband Edwin Arroyave have put their differences and their divorce aside as she fights for her life. 

On The Eds podcast released Thursday, Arroyave revealed he was all in. 

‘People think that’s hard, but for me, that’s just what I do,’ the 47-year-old entrepreneur explained. 

‘Like it’s no matter what, I will always love Teddi and she’s been a big part of my life. And I like taking care of people, it’s just what I do. So it wasn’t even like, a question.’

Mellencamp has been supported throughout the process by her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, 47

In the Wednesday episode of The Eds podcast, Arroyave said taking care of his wife was his top priority. ‘I will always love Teddi and she’s been a big part of my life. And I like taking care of people, it’s just what I do,’ he said

‘I think a big part of dealing with this situation is feeling confident, feeling like you’re not alone,’ he told listeners, revealing that he and his wife had received a lot of support. 

‘I think her friends all stepped up, her family all stepped up. And it helped me a lot.’

Referring to the cancer battle, Arroyave said, it was the top priority. 

‘We’ll see what happens with time. But for right now, it’s just more of like, how do we take care of you? And how can we get you back to normal as fast as [possible]? That other stuff will figure itself out.’
