During the event, Jenna and her co-star The Weeknd, 35, promoted their new movie, Hurry Up Tomorrow, which is set to release on May 16. 

The Canadian singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, also lit Caesars Colosseum ablaze with a performance of two songs from the movie, Cry For Me and Open Hearts as well as his classic Blinding Lights.

During the presentation, the duo also revealed the new trailer for the upcoming thriller movie. 

Ahead of The Weeknd’s performance, Lionsgate Motion Picture Chair Adam Fogelson threw it to the pic’s co-star Jenna to introduce the star, as he claimed he was too nervous to. 

The Wednesday actress called out Adam, saying: ‘You’re being really self-deprecating, and I’ve only been out here for five minutes.’ 

According to ᴅᴇᴀᴅline, the trailer features The Weeknd playing a version of himself — some sort of big performer. Meanwhile, Jenna seems to be the girlfriend — and she’s got her own problems living on the fringe. 

She loves him — it’s clear, she’s teary watching him perform. But, man, is that girl in his head. But he’s also ghosting her with several missed calls. 

 Director Trey Edward Shults, 36, previously described working with Abel as ‘effortless’ from the moment they met. 

The director of Hurry Up Tomorrow said: ‘He’s like family’ as he joined Jenna on stage to introduce the second trailer for the upcoming thriller. 

Discussing the new movie on stage, Jenna said: ‘The movie is hard to describe… I haven’t seen a movie quite like it. It’s very soulful.

She added: ‘It feels more like an experience and when you go into it with that mentality, it makes sense.’ 

Hurry Up Tomorrow is an upcoming American musical psychological thriller, directed and edited by Trey. 

The movie serves as a companion piece to The Weeknd’s sixth studio album of the same name. 

Trey wrote the screenplay with Abel and Reza Fahim, who also produced the movie with Kevin Turen and Harrison Kreiss. 

The movie stars Abel as a fictionalized version of himself, an insomniac musician on the verge of a mental breakdown who is pulled into an existential odyssey by a mysterious stranger. 

The movie, which also stars Saltburn icon Barry Keoghan, 32, will be released worldwide by Lionsgate on May 16.
