Minnie Driver and James Nesbitt put on a cosy display as they were spotted filming as husband and wife for a new Harlan Coben thriller on Netflix.

Run Away is set to be author Coben’s 12th adaptation for Netflix, with series produced in English, Polish, Spanish and French all available on the streamer.

His latest eight-episode series, based on the bestselling book, follows Simon Greene (played by Nesbitt) as he searches for his daughter Paige (Ellie de Lange).

And on Monday, Nesbitt was seen filming with his co-star Driver – who plays his character’s wife Ingrid – as the pair strolled through a park in Liverpool.

The duo sported similarly muted attire consisting of dark denim as they filmed the scenes for the highly-anticipated thriller.

Nesbitt and Driver were also seen sported casual ensembles consisting of tracksuit bottoms and a long padded jacket as they read over lines together in what appeared to be a rehearsal.

With more than 80 million books sold and everything that comes off his smoking-H๏τ keyboard optioned for TV by Netflix, Coben is taking the world by storm.

And with Gavin and Stacey writer and star Ruth Jones also joining the cast, the new twist-filled crime thriller is set to be another huge hit.

Also starring in the show alongside Minnie, James and Ruth are Alfred Enoch, Ellie de Lange and Lucian Msamati.

Coben said he knew Nesbitt would be right for the role, telling Netflix’s Tudum: ‘Jimmy just has so much range.

‘He’s so natural and authentic at all times. He’s an empathetic actor in the sense that he feels, and then you feel for him.’

Ruth will star as private investigator Elena Ravenscroft who is looking for a missing young man.

Coben said: ‘Run Away is about family – about what we will do to keep our family intact, what secrets we keep within our family, and what secrets we keep as a family.’

He added: ‘Every time you walk past the house, there’s a whole universe that goes on behind that door and none of us have a clue what it is.’

It comes after it was revealed Driver was scheduled to be shooting another movie – but it halted production due to unpaid wages for the crew.

Simon Pegg’s new film Angels in the Asylum was reportedly forced to stop amid claims production had run out of money.

The £5million project has allegedly been stopped for weeks amid a payment dispute, with crew reportedly owed £600,000 in unpaid wages.

Minnie was set to star in the upcoming drama alongside an all-star cast, with the film being the directorial debut of British director Rob Sorrenti.

The film, which is produced by Stephen Daldry, is also set to star Simon, who is also said to have been owed money.

Filming is thought to have been halted just 15 days into a month-long shoot amid the money issues.

A source told The Sun: ‘They were told they would be paid. But this has gone on for weeks now and there is no pay.

‘It’s chaos. Patience is wearing thin now, but really for most of the crew it wore out weeks ago.’

A spokeswoman said Minnie is still committed to appearing in the film – despite production being halted.

Keal Productions are behind the project, while UK-based Parkland Productions are thought to be the the distribution company for the film.

MailOnline contacted representatives of Keal Productions and Parkland Pictures for comment.

The film is inspired by a BBC report on 50 women who were deemed to be typhoid carriers who were kept locked away in isolation at a psychiatric hospital in Surrey in the 1930s.

Angels in the Asylum’s stellar cast also includes Katherine Waterston, Rose Williams and Miriam Margolyes.

A statement released to The Sun by the Managing Director of Keal Productions suggests that producers have desperately been attempting to raise the cash needed to pay the crew and get the film back on track.

It is said that up to 70 crew members have been affected by payment issues.
