The Oscar winner, 43, plays the main role of Charles Heller in the action thriller and looked every inch the leading man as he arrived.

Rami exuded charm and charisma in a black and white checked blazer teamed with a pair of tailored black trousers.

He stood out from the crowd by adding a clashing striped print shirt underneath, completing the dapper look with a black tie and dress shoes.

While Caitriona, 45, ensured all eyes were on her at the glitzy premiere, sporting an attention-grabbing fluorescent yellow gown.

She showcased her svelte figure in the bold number, which boasted a draped neckline and a cutout to flash a glimpse of her toned midriff.

Caitriona boosted her height with a pair of black high heels and accessorised with a pair of simple diamond earrings.

The Irish actress completed her striking look by slicking her dark hair back and sporting a dramatic dark purple lip.

Laurence, 63, pulled out all the stops for the premiere, opting for the most eye-catching outfit of the night.

The Matrix star looked sharp in an emerald green waistcoat and matching trousers, compete with a coordinating polka dot bow tie.

The Oscar nominee gave his look extra dramatic flair with a bright purple collared shirt underneath and a smart grey patterned coat.

Laurence finished his fashion forward ensemble with shiny brown leather shoes and a pair of oversized sunglᴀsses.

Also in attendance at the screening were Made In Chelsea stars Kimberley Garner and Sophie Hermann.

Kimberley set pulses racing in a figure-hugging brown dress with an off-the-shoulder design and quirky plaited straps that hung all the way down to the floor.

While Sophie put on a leggy display in a black and white tulle minidress with a corsetted bodice and tutu-style skirt, teamed with a choker adorned with a rose.

They were joined by television presenters Katie Piper and Ria Hebden, who both stepped out in glamorous ensembles.

Katie looked nothing short of sensational in a black PVC halterneck jumpsuit, that clung to her slender frame.

The Loose Women star was joined by her husband Richard James Sutton, who complemented his wife in a black velvet suit and navy turtleneck.

Ria nailed spring chic as she arrived in a strapless floral gown made of layers of floaty chiffon, with a matching belt to cinch her in at her tiny waist.

Alongside Rami, Caitriona and Laurence, The Amateur also stars the likes of Rachel Brosnahan, Jon Bernthal, Julianne Nicholson and Michael Stuhlbarg.

The action flick is based on the 1981 novel of the same name by Robert Littell and the premise follows Rami’s character taking revenge against his wife’s killers.

The official synopsis reads: ‘A CIA cryptographer manages to blackmail his agency into training him to let him go after a group of terrorist who killed his wife’.

After being pushed back from its original release date of November 8, 2024, the film is now set to premiere on April 11.

Rami recently completed his run in the latest adaptation of Sophocles tragedy, Oedipus at the Old Vic Theatre in the heart of London.

The actor starred as the тιтular role opposite Indira Varma in the production, co-directed by Matthew Warchus and Hofesh Shechter, from January until his final performance on Saturday.

The premise followed: ‘King Oedipus who is tasked by his subjects to avenge the murder of the old King Laius in hopes that it will fulfill an oracle’s prophecy,’ per Playbill.

The production – which was adapted by playwright Ella Hickson –  marked Rami’s debut on the London stage and return to treading the boards after 18 years.

Ahead of his first show in January, he admitted in an interview with Vogue he had not retuned to the stage for nearly two decades due to ‘a little bit of fear.’

He continued: ‘I can get quite hands-on with the work in all iterations of the production. I’ll be with my partner and they’re like, “Leave it. Just take a beat. You don’t have to produce and try to direct everything on your own. Allow things to evolve…”‘

‘I consider myself an intuitive person. I collaborate. There’s no greater feeling than a collective feeling of success, or if it’s s**t that we feel it together and laugh about it.’

Rami added: ‘But if there’s an opportunity to lift something, I leave no stone unturned. And I think sometimes that could be a detriment.’

His co-star, Indira, cut in to add that with theatre there can be a lack of control and shared: ‘Ultimately we’ll put it on and there will be people who go, “This is the best thing I’ve ever seen.”‘

‘And there will be people who say, “What a load of rubbish.” It’s out of our hands. That’s what is so exciting about making and telling stories: the audience members have to bring so much of themselves to fill in those gaps.’

However, Rami’s performance and the production itself received several scathing reviews.

The Telegraph said the star was ‘almost entirely at sea with Oedipus’ and questioned his decision to opt for a ‘tic-ridden delivery’ that strangled his lines.

‘But his relationship with Varma, who outclasses everyone on stage, is consistently jarring,’ added the review.

‘Theirs is a marriage we are required to believe is founded on love; instead it resembles a confused arrangement between two people of almost entirely different species.’

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail’s Patrick Marmion said: ‘Making his UK stage debut, Malek’s mask-like features are a good fit for a great king from antiquity, but his inward-looking method acting doesn’t suit the ritualistic staging that’s meant to evoke ancient Greek religious cults.’

When tickets went up for sale, they sold out almost instantly and any that were left went up for exorbitant prices (£210 for a seat in the stalls).

But the i Paper suggested that more than a few fans might well have wanted their money back after watching the stiff production and noted that it simply couldn’t compare to Lesley Manville and Mark Strong’s performance last year.
