Simon Cowell cut a smart casual figure on Friday as he arrived at the America’s Got Talent studio.

The 65-year-old music mogul sported a dark grey T-shirt with a scoop neckline, paired with navy trousers, as he exited his car and made his way into the studio.

To complete his look, Simon wore a pair of black trainers and trendy black aviator sunglᴀsses.

He was also seen carrying a brown clutch bag in his arms, appearing in high spirits as he beamed for the cameras ahead of filming.

It comes as Simon is set to take inspiration from one of the cartoon world’s most iconic supervillains in Saturday’s episode of Britain’s Got Talent.

The music mogul was transformed into the character Gru, complete with a bald head and pointed nose, by an army of minions who took to the stage.

As the troupe of minions arrive at the auditions, they quickly cause chaos by dressing up Simon as the famous villain, before impressing the judges with their dance moves.

Fans will have to wait and see whether the colourful characters will land a spot in the next round, with the live shows set to kick off next month, airing weekly on Saturday nights for the first time.

It comes after BGT fans were left ‘sobbing’ after judge Simon broke the show’s rules and awarded a second Golden Buzzer on Saturday.

Each member of the panel is awarded one press of the Golden Buzzer per series, which sends acts straight through to the live semi-finals, but the music mogul was so blown away by ‘incredible’ charity band Electric Umbrella he couldn’t resist.

The Watford based band featured young singers with learning disabilities and their joyous performance had Simon, Amanda Holden, 54, Alesha Dixon, 46, and Bruno Tonioli, 69, screaming for more.

After Simon broke the rules the Blackpool audience burst into applause as gold confetti fell from the ceiling and he headed onto the stage to congratulate the singers.

Taking to X fans gushed: ‘Sobbing, I love them so much’: ‘Oh my god this act on BGT has got me feeling all the emotions’: ‘BGT that was so touching. So glad Simon gave them a Golden Buzzer’: ‘That really deserved a Golden Buzzer’: ‘Aw my heart they deserved that Golden Buzzer so much’

The last episode saw viewers complain about a significant technical issue after watching the audition which scored a Golden Buzzer from Amanda Holden.

As 11-year-old Oliver joined the stage revealing he wanted to become the best guitarist in the world – adding he was an admirer of AC/DC’s Angus Young.

The young lad caused a standing ovation and captured judges and guests in attendance with his musical skills.

‘A star is born,’ judge Amanda said as she immediately commented on the performance.

‘I have never seen anything like that before in my life.’

With the crowd raving about Oliver and chanting in unison – they pressured judges to press the famous golden buzzer, until Amanda did.

The little aspiring guitarist jumped with joy as also his parents got very emotional while watching in the audience.

‘You already have your own distinct sound which others spend decades trying to do,’ head judge Simon Cowell said.

‘You’re that good, seriously good. That was BRILLIANT. Good for you!’

But some fans at home were left way more unimpressed after stressing they couldn’t ‘even hear the guitar’ during his live act and raced to X to remark the issue:

‘You can’t even hear the guitar #bgt’;

‘Couldn’t hear him playing the backing track was so loud and it looked fake tbh’;

‘Couldn’t tell because you played music over him’;

‘Why is that annoying back ground music always playing . A lot better when the programme is live’;

‘Was that good hear the music playing over what he was doing. Not a golden buzzer for me’;

‘They probably feel pressured to press the ʙuттon by the audience’;

Meanwhile other viewers couldn’t stop gushing over the astonishing performance, adding the golden buzzer was instead ‘well-deserved.’
