Tamer Hᴀssan admits he ‘misses’ pal Danny Dyer as he reminisces on the pair’s wild days and hopes they can work together again

Tamer Hᴀssan has admitted he ‘misses’ pal Danny Dyer as he reminisced on the pair’s ‘glorious 15 years together’ before he went to Hollywood.

The Game Of Thrones star, 57, and the EastEnders actor, 47, both starred together in movies The Football Factory, The Business and ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Man Running.

The pair were notorious in the Noughties for partying as hard as the gangsters they played and later commanded tens of thousands of pounds for personal appearances in nightclubs.

Danny then went on to land his steady job on BBC soap EastEnders while Tamer has admitted he nearly ‘f***ed up’ his own acting career by arriving to film sets late, ‘aggressive, screaming and hungover’.

Speaking about their friendship on Wednesday, Tamer told The Sun that he hopes that he and Danny can work together again in the future.

He said: ‘Danny and I dominated the British film industry and we had a glorious 15 years together.

‘I miss him. But I went to Hollywood, he landed a role in EastEnders. We went our separate ways. I hope we can grace the screen together again.’

Tamer has since discovered his reputation for being a ‘problem’ was even discussed with the crew on his new spin-off series Snatch after his old partying antics.

He added: ‘Danny and I were getting tens of thousands just for turning up. For three or four years, I was getting drunk and misbehaving. Then I’d turn up on set aggressive, screaming and hungover.

‘I’d f***ed up my career. I was turning up late and drunk. Word gets round. Hollywood is full of people who are difficult and don’t get the chance of a comeback.’

Tamer’s wild partying ways also took a toll on his marriage to Karen, who he shares footballer son Taser, 33, and Love Island star daughter Belle, 27, with.

He soon realised he had to ‘grow up’ and start being responsible as he admitted he is ‘pinching’ himself today that the couple are celebrating 39-years of marriage.

It comes as the 2004 movie The Football Factory starring Danny Dyer as disillusioned 29-year-old Tommy Johnson who lives for the weekend football matches is making a sequel.

Tamer starred as Danny’s opposition in the film – who hunts Tommy down throughout the flick.

On Tuesday Danny won the prize for Best Supporting Actor in the raunchy Disney+ adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s Rivals at the Royal Television Society Awards.

Taking to the stage to accept his award, Danny jokingly quipped: ‘What a result, I’ve got to thank Disney, I’m a Disney star now! Such a brilliant show I think I’ve had a result here because there’s so many brilliant performances.’

He added: ‘I’d like to thank Denee, my manager, and also the amazing Katherine Parkinson.’

Danny concluded his acceptance speech with a shout-out: ‘Shout-out to the working class actors, remember where you come from!’

It’s been a good awards season for Danny, who also won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the prestigious Broadcasting Press Guild awards in London last week.
