Ben Affleck has broken his silence on the fan theory that Jennifer Lopez’s awkward documentary is what caused the famous couple to split.
When The Greatest Love Story Never told hit screens last year, Ben was noitceably uncomfortable as his relationship was thrust under the spotlight, after admiтιтng he preferred things ‘private’ and ‘sacred’.
However, to viewiers’ surprise, he has since clarified that despite the speculation, fans would do well not to read too much into the documentary.
He told British GQ: ‘I think it’s important to say that wasn’t the cause of some major fracture. It’s not like you can watch that documentary and go, ‘Oh, now I understand the issues that these two had.”
The actor, 52, rekindled his romance with the singer, 55, in 2021, but the reunion was short-lived, with J Lo filing for divorce in August last year after their two-year marriage crumbled – two months after the film was released.

He said: ‘I came to the house one day and all the producers were round, I went down there and the book I had given her was there’
Arguably the most talked about moment in the documentary, was when JLo shared the incredibly romantic gift her husband gave her for their first Christmas back together.
She revealed he gifted her a book of every love note and email he’d sent her when they were first dating, a gift he dubbed ‘the greatest love story never told’.
Jennifer mused: ‘It became our Bible and we left it there in the studio and people would thumb through it.’
The show then cut to singers Ink and Faangs talking about their experience reading the book before cutting back to a disgruntled looking Ben recalling the time he realised Jen had shared the book with her friends.
He said: ‘I came to the house one day and all the producers were round, I went down there and the book I had given her was there.
‘She was like ‘I’ve been reading and this is the inspiration, I’ve been showing them the book.’ I was like ‘you’ve been showing all the musicians all those letters?’ and they were like ‘yeah, we call you Pen Affleck!’ I was like ‘oh my god…”
He continued: ‘I did really find the beauty and the poetry and the irony in the fact that it’s ‘the greatest love story never told’ and if you’re making a record about it, that seems kind of like telling it!’
Jen then reasoned: ‘I wanted to share it with the world. This is about bringing the album to life in a different way.’

Marriage officiants have 10 calendar days to submit the certificate to their office for filing, according to the Clark County Clerk’s Office.
