Garcelle Beauvais has shocked the reality television world by announcing she is stepping away from The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills after five years.  

The 58-year-old actress said via social media she is leaving the hit reality TV show at the end of the 14th season. 

‘Hey guys, so I have some news, I’ve decided to leave Beverly Hills,’ Garcelle said. 

‘It’s been a wild ride. I mean, some amazing things have happened, and some hard things have also happened, but it’s been a ride.’ 

Beauvais said she wants to spend more time with her kids Oliver, Jax and Jaid. 

 ‘Nevertheless, one of the reasons why I’m leaving is my family,’ she added.

Fans were quick to take to social media expressing their sorrow.

‘Say it aint so!’ one said, while another declared: ‘We will miss you.’

Her last season will be season 14; she has been on the show for almost five years. ‘Hey guys, so I have some news, I’ve decided to leave Beverly Hills,’ Garcelle shared in an Instagram video

‘My boys, their last year of high school is next year, and I want to be a part of that. 

‘And Jaid is starting a new career, and I want to be a part of that too. And secondly, I have the most exciting projects that I am developing, producing and acting, and I can’t tell you anything right now, but you’ll know soon.’

She may also come back down the road. 

‘The door will always be open, so you never know,’ she continued. ‘I might pop back in some time.’

And she thanked her loyal followers.

‘To the fans, I want to say, thank you so much. You guys have cheered me on, supported me and sometimes even fought for me or on my behalf. It means a lot, and I hope you guys will continue on this journey with me. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later.’

Garcelle has always raved about RHOBH and was thrilled when she joined the show around 2000.

‘First of all, I’ve been a fan of the show. I’ve obviously been friends with Denise [Richards] for over 20 years, friends with [Lisa] Rinna a very long time as well,’ she told E! News at the time. 

‘So being a fan, and then when it came up, I thought immediately…My team was like, “Oh, we’re gonna pᴀss,” and I said, “Wait a minute, wait a minute! Let me let me sit on this for a minute.”

‘It’s been a wild ride. I mean, some amazing things have happened, and some hard things have also happened, but it’s been a ride.’ She wants to be with her kids. ‘Nevertheless, one of the reasons why I’m leaving is my family,’ she added

‘And I thought, you know what, why not do something outside of the box, right?’

The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills also stars Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, Sutton Stracke and Bozoma Saint John. 

Beauvais is a Haitian-American actress, producer, author, and former fashion model.

She’s best known for her roles in The Jamie Foxx Show, NYPD Blue, and the Coming to America films. 

Beauvais made history as the first African American cast member on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in season 10.
