BBC star is rushed to hospital after falling off his Lime bike while riding it drunk as he issues warning to fans

BBC Three star Steve Stamp has revealed that he was rushed to hospital after falling off his Lime bike.

The People Just Do Nothing star, 40, had been riding the bike while drunk when he suffered the horrific fall.

Sharing a snap from his hospital bed on Sunday, Steve issued a warning to fans not to cycle while drunk.

Attached to a snap of his bandaged arm, Steve wrote: ‘Please don’t cycle home drunk on Lime bikes.’

Keeping his sense of humour, Steve shared a message from a fan reply to the picture of his arm which read: ‘This reminds me of in PJDN when u ran to the shop and got hit by a car.’

‘Thanks for your kind messages,’ Steve captioned the exchange.

Steve didn’t share any more details about his accident or the extent of his injury.

It comes after Comic Relief viewers were left ‘cringing’ by the annual telethon’s ’embarrᴀssing’ Gladiator’s sketch during it’s 40th anniversary show on Friday evening.

The comedy scene featured Steve’s co-star, actor Asim Chaudhry, as his People Just Do Nothing character Chabuddy G and took on resident bodybuilder Bionic.

After beating his rival in The Duel, the character was caught to be cheating and was beaten up by the other Gladiators before farting.

Viewers branded the sketch ’embarrᴀssing’ and ‘the most unfunny thing ever’  as they took to X to complain.

Writing: ‘That Gladiator sketch was a embarrᴀssment. The Gladiators are modern icons and that’s what you producer! Waste,’;

‘That Gladiators sketch on Comic Relief was the most unfunny thing I have ever seen, and that includes watching Mrs Brown’s Boys,’;

‘Gladiators NO,’; ‘What fresh hell is this.’

It comes after Steve’s recent sitcom Peacock, about Andy (Allan Mustafa), a personal trainer specialising in ‘body positivity’.

Andy’s struggling with what it means to be a modern man. In an environment of wannabe winners aiming for endless Personal Bests, he’s a bit of a loser.

Peacock is a ‘workplace comedy’. From Are You Being Served and Fawlty Towers, to The Office and The Thick Of It.

The sitcoms arguably provide the funniest ‘situations’ for our finest comedies – while the best of the rest invariably work from home.

For situational spin (never mind a spin class) gyms are perfect environments, heaving with the kind of people who take their glutes too seriously.

It’s written and created by Steve and Ben Murray, both members of the team who gave us the silly-funny ‘mockumentary’ series, People Just Do Nothing>

Its supporting cast includes Pippa Haywood (Green Wing) and Lucien Laviscount as Andy’s nemesis Jay – a long way from his role as Emily In Paris’s beau.

The cleverly observed sitcom whose protagonist’s likeability far exceeds that of David Brent or Alan Partridge, never mind Basil Fawlty.
