Different songs

The controversial reboot of the 1937 Disney classic Snow White has been met with overwhelmingly negative reviews.

It’s come as no surprise for some since the movie, dubbed ‘woke’ Snow White, has made some questionable decisions, including the use of CGI dwarfs.

The live-action movie still begins with the story of the kindhearted princess but it doesn’t take long till viewers find out she’s not looking for her prince.

Instead, almost immediately, the movie focuses on Snow White wanting to be a good leader for her people – excluding the notable romantic feel.

It’s the first change of many that viewers are quick to find out just minutes into the movie, which has been met with a tepid response from both fans and critics.

Here, MailOnline notes the biggest changes in the ‘woke’ movie.

Different songs

The infamous ‘Heigh-Ho’ and ‘Whistle While You Work’ both got updated lyrics.

The remake also includes new songs ‘Waiting on a Wish’, ‘Princess Problems’, ‘Good Things Grow’ and ‘All Is Fair’.

One of the classic songs from the animated film ‘Someday My Prince Will Come’ was removed entirely – thanks to a prince not even being scripted.

Dopey talks

One of the noticeable change in the movie is when one of the Seven Dwarfs, Dopey, talks.

In the animated movie the dwarf is completely mute but in the remake, Dopey learns to voice his feelings after Snow White unlocks his self-confidence.

No Glᴀss Coffin

One of the most shocking differences is the removal of the glᴀss coffin.

After Snow White takes a bite from the Evil Queen’s poison apple, the Seven Dwarfs place her body on a rock in the woods.

She gets placed in an open tent lying with dangling flowers around her.

The Prince

The new Snow White ditches any sight of a prince and replaces the character with a bandit from the forest named Jonathon.

They first meet when he’s caught stealing potatoes from the Evil Queen to feed the hungry people in the town.

Jonathon and Snow White soon fall in love, with Jonathon the one who wakes her up by kissing her from death’s sleep.

Restaged Whistle While You Work

Whistle While You Work continues to be one of the biggest musical moments in the new movie – but it has been completely restaged and reworked.

Featuring new verses and a mix up of the traditional lyrics, it’s another part of the movie that has changed entirely.

It’s also presented as a group number with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs as they clean up their messy cottage.

The Evil Queen’s death

The Evil Queen’s death is completely different to the animated movie.

In the classic film, the Seven Dwarfs arrive back at their cottage to find the Evil Queen responsible for Snow White’s death.

Originally, the dwarfs chase the Evil Queen to the edge of the cliff where she is struck by lightening and falls to her death.

Now, there is no chase in the movie.

The Evil Queen returns to the kingdom after tricking Snow White into eating the apple.

Once Jonathon wakes Snow White up with a kiss, they team up with the dwarfs to take the Evil Queen down.

Through kindness, Snow White manages to convince the Evil Queen’s guards to switch sides and let them through.

The Evil Queen then asks the Magic Mirror one last time who is the fairest of them all.

To her disgust, the mirror responds that it will forever be Snow White.

She then, like the movie, has a meltdown, smashes the mirror and ends up disintegrating and getting sucked into it.

Bluddle-Uddle-Um-Dum is removed

Another shock major change in the animated film is the dwarfs’ iconic washing song.

The five-minute musical number Bluddle-Uddle-Um-Dum is cut from the live-action movie.

It saw the Seven Dwarfs take a bath after Snow White requests they wash before they eat dinner.

It comes amid ‘awful’ reviews for the controversial $270million reboot and a ‘scaled-back’ press tour that fueled rumors of a feud between her and co-star Gal Gadot, who plays the Evil Queen.

Rachel Zegler spoke about the film’s ‘modern’ twist, which has been heavily criticised as ‘woke’ due to tweaks made to the ‘Sєxist’ romance plot and the replacement of dwarf actors with CGI.

Rachel’s personal politics, such as her pro-Palestine stance and public condemnation of President Donald Trump, have also added to the backlash.

‘It’s all about bridging a classic to a modern age to bring it to these beautiful young people,’ Rachel told viewers.

‘[Snow White’s] superpower remains her heart, you know, that’s always been the core of this story.

‘That’s always been the core of the Disney Company.’

She also insisted that the upcoming live-action film is for both children and the ‘inner child in all of us.’
