Radio 1 presenter Katie Thistleton has given birth to her first child.

The broadcaster, 35, announced she has welcomed a baby boy named Reuben as she shared the first snap of him on Monday evening.

Katie, who surprised her listeners by announcing her pregnancy live on air last year, posed alongside her husband Alex. 

She wrote: ‘Reuben Alexander Harris was born on the 6th March and he is THE CUTEST THING EVER.

‘The love I feel for my incredible husband and this little tiny person we’ve made is almost too much for me to bear.

‘I feel complete! And so grateful for our family and friends. And so in awe of/want to give a big hug to all the parents I know. And SO impressed with obstetricians and paediatricians and midwives.

‘I will never be able to put into words the feeling I felt when I first saw him ❤️ We are loving our sweet little new life together as a family of 3 and feeling so very blessed.

‘Ps. Reuben means ‘behold, a son’ and he was born to the Beatles ‘here comes the sun’ ☀️ obsessed.’

Katie, who co-hosts Radio 1’s Going Home with Vick, Katie and Jamie, was inundated with well wishes from her celebrity pals.

Clara Amfo wrote: ‘Congratulations! I hope he arrived to arrived to Lauryn’s voice! Xx’. 

Rickie Haywood-Williams added: ‘Hi Reuben ✨ What a beautiful family’.

Dr Punam Krishan wrote: ‘Huge congratulations my lovely, such gorgeous news. Can’t wait to meet him and give you a big hug, you superstar mama.’ 

Prior to joining Radio 1, Katie was known for presenting CBBC HQ and the CBBC Book Club. 

She announced her pregnancy back in October while hosting a quiz for her colleagues, who were left screaming from the surprise.

Katie wrote: ‘The love I feel for my incredible husband and this little tiny person we’ve made is almost too much for me to bear. I feel complete!’

Announcing her pregnancy, Katie shared a montage of her and Alex’s engagement and wedding, as well as the couple holding up their scan pH๏τo 

She said: ‘I’ve got a question for you guys and that is: What is the last message that you were sent on WhatsApp. So if you could all open your WhatsApps, please.’

As the pair then expressed their shock and squealed loudly, Katie explained: ‘I’ve just sent Matt and Mollie a scan pH๏τo and a message saying me and Alex are having a baby.

‘I was so scared that that would go wrong, like the WiFi wouldn’t send it.’

The Saturdays star Mollie, who was expecting her second child Liliana with fiancé Stuart Broad at the time, was particularly excited by the news, with Katie revealing she’d been wanting to spill the beans to her fellow mum-to-be.

She shared: ‘I mean, oh my god Mollie I’ve wanted to talk to you about this so much.

‘There was a day when you walked past us and I was like, ‘how are you and you were like, ‘I’ve been so sick’ and I was thinking, ‘me too I’m so sick but I can’t tell anyone yet’. But yeah, I’m due in March so not that far behind you really.’

After the radio announcement, Katie took to Instagram to confirm her news with a video montage.

‘We’ve been married three gorgeous years today, feels like a good time to announce the next chapter. Watch for a surprise.’
