Love Island’s Gabby Allen reveals the real reason for her boob jobs after her ribs were removed following terrifying health battle

Gabby Allen has opened up about the real reason behind her boob jobs as she revealed her ribs were left wonky following a terrifying health battle.

The Love Island star, 33, who won the most recent series of All Stars with Casey O’Gorman, was diagnosed with scoliosis when she was just 11-years-old.

After her mum noticed her back was wonky while on holiday, Gabby underwent a gruelling 10 hour operation which saw her have six ribs removed and metal rods, nuts and bolts inserted into her back.

The star then underwent her first boob job in 2017 following her stint on Love Island as she admitted to being unhappy with how they looked.

Yet she admitted she ‘ruined her boobs’ by returning to exercise too soon after the procedure and was forced to have the surgery once again 2023.

She told The Mirror: ‘My boobs had bottomed out which means they had come out of the pocket that had been made for them to sit in.’

Revealing how her scoliosis impacted her having to have the procedure again she explained: ‘It was because of my scoliosis. My ribs on the back left side are wonky. They took them out and the ribs grew back – but inwards.’

Explaining how her mum believes she had stunted growth from her spinal operation Gabby added: ‘She believes this had a detrimental effect on everything in my torso. The left side of my chest wall was pushed forward, making my breasts look even more uneven and knocking my confidence further.’

After the procedure in December 2023 Gabby made sure to prioritise her recovery and now tailors her strength and exercise routine into keeping her spine and breasts in place.

It isn’t the first time Gabby has spoken out her second boob job after she previously revealed she was insecure about her small boobs and didn’t feel ‘pretty enough’ compared to her fellow islanders.

Taking to her Instagram in January 2024 after her second boob job, the personal trainer joked: ‘Well put it this way, my left nipple was looking at the ceiling and my right nipple was looking at the wall.

‘My left boob was underneath my armpit and my right boob was sat all the way up here on my chest.’

She continued: ‘But in all seriousness my boobs had bottomed out which means they had come out of the pocket that had been made for them to sit in.

‘My left one was sitting two inches lower than my right and to be honest with you I wasn’t lying the nipple was pointing to the ceiling and it was tearing off underneath my armpit when I lay down.

‘The right boob wasn’t as bad as the left but it still wasn’t in the right place and this is all down to the aftercare.’

Gabby went on to reveal that first time around she did not know you needed to wear a post surgical bra after the surgery, and instead only wore a sports bra.

She urged fans to make sure they have thorough aftercare after such major surgery and also told fans to not work out after the procedure.

The fitness fanatic admitted she began working out too soon  as she advised fans: ‘most importantly don’t work out too soon. Don’t be an idiot like me and put the risk of ruining your new beautiful boobs just for the sake of a workout.’

She continued: ‘So this time around I’m going to listen to myself as a personal trainer knowing what’s right for my body, take my own advice, take my doctor’s advice and use the next six weeks to heal, make a full recovery and make the comeback better than the setback.’

Last March Gabby showcased the results of her corrective boob job, after undergoing an ‘annoying and uncomfortable’ initial augmentation.

In her caption, she detailed how her nipples were left wonky while her breasts were sitting ‘under her armpits’, as she warned of the perils of surgery while unveiling the results of her boob job during her ‘Girls’ first holiday’ – in reference to her implants.

Gabby also confessed that she was hesitant to go under the knife, as she did not want to set a bad impression for her followers, however decided ‘you only live once’ and she was desperate to ‘feel more me’ – yet the results ‘weren’t right’.

In an accompanying caption, she penned: ‘The girls’ first holiday… You can’t really see explicitly just how bad my boobs were prior to my second boob job but hopefully you can kinda get the gist…

‘One nipple was looking up at ya and one nipple was looking for you… nearly under the armpit. But it wasn’t just because of the wonkiness I needed them done again it was also because…

‘A) I’d had a boob job for my body confidence, something I had wanted done for years upon years, so not a decisions I’d made lightly due to a number of reasons, the main reason being I didn’t want to disappoint people for having surgery…

‘But at the end of the day, YOLO and I knew it would make me feel more ME!! So when they weren’t right, it obviously needed to be rectified. I was so self conscious of them again- not the ideal outcome obv…

‘B) my boobs were REALLY uncomfortable. As they had bottomed out and to the side, they made it really uncomfortable to sleep on my back or my side, training also felt weird and there was no way I could go braless…

‘I felt like they were gunna end up by my ankles. There was a few reasons why this happened and I have taken a much stricter approach to my recovery this time…

‘But as annoying as it is having to do the job twice in 3 years, I actually much prefer the result this time- even if I hadn’t ruined them- I was told I couldn’t achieve a cleavage… I’m sorry but see exhibit A…

‘Dr Serkan understood and delivered the ᴀssignment. Please note, I am sharing my journey to warn anyone who is planning breast augmentation, not to make the same mistakes I did!!! I have received lots of messages too so it’s doing the job!’

What is scoliosis?

Scoliosis is the abnormal curvature of the spine in an S-shape.

Signs include a visible curve in the spine, one shoulder or hip being more prominent than the other, clothes not hanging properly and back pain.

Pain usually only affects adults with the condition.

In most cases, the cause of the scoliosis is not known but it can be caused by cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy.

In the UK, scoliosis affects three to four children could of every 1,000.

It is also thought that as many as 70 per cent of over 65s have some degree of scoliosis.

It is more common in women than in men.

Most children with the condition do not require treatment as it is mild and corrects itself as the child grows.

However, in severe cases the child may need to wear a back brace until they stop growing.

Occasionally, a child needs surgery to straighten their spine.

In adults, it is usually too late to treat the condition with a back brace or surgery so treatment revolves around reducing pain.
