Olly Murs candidly confessed he broke down in tears a few months after the birth of his daughter after he was forced to leave her just two days after her birth.
The singer, 40, who welcomed Madison with his wife Amelia last April, left the newborn days after her birth as her arrival coincided with the start of his tour with Take That.
And now the star has admitted the emotional toll the decision had on him months after when he realised he had never got to know his daughter as a baby.
Speaking with new dad Mark Wright on their Heart Breakfast show on Saturday morning, Olly admitted: ‘It was really hard for me as I had to leave two days after the baby was born to go on tour with Take That.’
He explained: ‘I didn’t really process it at the time and a few months later me and Amelia were chatting and I just broke down in tears as I never got a chance to actually get to know this little baby.’
Supporting his pal amid his decision to leave his family for work commitments, Mark added: ‘But you were doing it all for her future.’

At the time of his tour with Take That Olly was racing home to EsSєx after gigs to spend time with Amelia and Madison.
Performing to thousands at London’s O2 arena last April, Olly told the crowd how he has been juggling nappies and late nights, but feels guilty he has been working away from home.
‘It’s been the most craziest time. Cos obviously on one hand I’ve got this beautiful baby girl, my wife is at home looking after her with the nappies, and the sleepless nights.
‘And I’m on tour with Take That. I feel guilty!’
In the exclusive clip obtained my MailOnline, Olly continued: ‘But this week I’ve been home. I’ve done the nappies, I’ve done the late nights and I can’t wait to stay on tour.
‘I’m joking! Honestly, she is truly awesome. I never thought I’d be a dad, so I can’t quite believe it.’
Olly and his bodybuilder partner, 32, who married in July 2023, announced the arrival of their baby girl, Maddison on April 17, and just 48 hours after Amelia had given birth the singer was back on tour.
Sharing a clip of Olly on stage, Amelia wrote: ‘I’ve just been sat feeding our baby Madi and then we see this post. She doesn’t even know she’s got a super Daddy yet. We are both missing you very much but so proud of you @ollymurs.’

Meanwhile Mark Wright was overcome with emotion as he opened up about becoming a new dad on the show on Saturday as he described it as the ‘biggest achievement’ of his life.
The former TOWIE star and wife Michelle Keegan, both 37, shared the arrival of baby daughter Palma on Wednesday with a sweet snap of the tot.
As Olly asked Mark how he was feeling, the star fought back emotions as he said: ‘Mate, it’s actually hard to put into words.
‘It’s the biggest achievement of my life its all I think about but obviously hats go off to my wife she is an absolute super human, a superhero for bringing this baby into the world.’
Sharing his appreciation for Michelle he added: ‘It makes you realise what our mums did for us and makes me have so much more respect than I already had and what women had to go through.

‘It’s the best feeling in the world. I wake up every morning just so excited to see her face.’
Recalling the first moment he held her he continued: ‘That moment when I held her in my arms, it gets me emotional now thinking about it.
‘I suppose everything else goes out the window and its made me realise what life is all about and my little baby Palma I love you so much and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.
‘It’s a very special feeling. I cant really put it into words. We’ve waited a little bit of time, we’ve chased our dreams and our careers and now we’re here. We’ve got a baby.’
