Lizzo reveals the four-word comment from fan that saved her life when she was suicidal

Lizzo made her triumphant return to the stage after nearly two years with a show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Out in support of her Love In Real Life album, the slimmed-down pop star opened up between songs to share about her struggles with depression after getting slapped with Sєxual harᴀssment lawsuits in 2023.

In fact, she confessed things got so ‘dark’ for her at times that she started to have suicidal thoughts.

‘I named [my album Love In Real Life] because about a year and a half ago — it’s so hard for me to talk about — I was in such a dark, deep depression,’ the rapper, singer, and classically trained flutist admitted to the crowd, as seen on video shared on X obtained by Page Six.

‘I was so heartbroken by the world and so deeply hurt that I didn’t want to live anymore, and I was so deeply afraid of people that I didn’t want to be seen,’ she explained. ‘Eventually I got over that fear.’

Her big mental health breakthrough came when she shared a sweet and loving moment with a complete stranger at a concert.

‘As I was walking through the crowd to get to my spot, something miraculous happened. Somebody, who I didn’t know, looked at me and said, “Lizzo, I love you,”‘ she explained at the LA show.

‘And they reached out, and I reached back, and we hugged, and it felt so damn good,’ she added, before calling the moment ‘f***ing life-saving.’

After that monumental experience the Truth Hurts star told herself, “Damn, you can’t get this s**t on the internet, bro. This is the kind of love you can only get in real life.” ‘And I don’t share that story to gain some sort of sympathy. We’re beyond that, b**ch. Look at me!’

It appears Lizzo (born Melissa Viviane Jefferson), 36, needed to share her story to potentially reach anyone dealing with ‘depression, or darkness, or felt so betrayed by someone they trusted or was lied on and hated on for those lies.’

Back in August 2023, the Detroit, Michigan native as hit with Sєxual harᴀssment and discrimination lawsuit by several former backup dancers.

She dismissed the claims in a statement posted to Instagram shortly after the the legal documents wer filed, insisting that they were ‘outrageous’ and ‘unbelievable.’

Later that same month there were more claims of Sєxual harᴀssment from a number of other dancers, which was followed by another filed by her former stylist for Lizzo’s Big Grrrl Big Tour company, who accused Lizzo of racial and Sєxual harᴀssment.

That lawsuit was eventually dropped in December 2024, according to a report from The Post.

‘There’s a reason that Lizzo continues to fight long after most public figures would have settled – because these allegations are false and can’t be allowed to stand,’ a source told the publication.

The Grammy winner is still facing multiple lawsuits from some of her former employees who are claiming Sєxual and racial harᴀssment and a toxic work environment.

Lizzo continues to maintain that all of the allegations waged against her are false.
