Not long after Pinfield was hospitalized in January, his daughter Jessica filed for temporary conservatorship because the star was ‘incompetent to make decisions.’
In legal documents obtained by TMZ at the time, both Jessica and her sister Maya stated that they have concerns over Matt’s girlfriend, Kara Brown, having access to his accounts and also feared that she would withdraw funds.
Brown and Matt’s brother Glenn filed legal paperwork of their own in response to Jessica gaining temporary conservatorship of Pinfield.
Hours before his stroke, Pinfield shared a pH๏τo of himself at work to Instagram captioned: ‘Starting another week with graтιтude for a life surrounded by great people, life changing music, and unforgettable experiences that I never take for granted.
‘Here to another week-another day-open heart and open mind. Let’s rock!’

He has also battled heart problems and substance abuse, which led him to go to rehab in early 2017, per The San Francisco Chronicle.
Matt said: ‘I was dealing with A-fib (atrial fibrillation, or irregular heart rhythm). Drinking on top of it wasn’t a good idea. And it turns out I was overmedicated.
