Gwyneth Paltrow claimed her relationship with her famous mother Blythe Danner ‘shifted’ after she started using the rave drug MDMA therapeutically.

‘I had done the therapeutic MDMA with the therapist and I remember because you said, “Oh, your relationship with your mom is so gentle,”‘ the 52-year-old Goop CEO-founder recalled to friend Amy Griffin on her Goop podcast Wednesday.

‘Remember, you’re like, “What, what shifted? You know, you’re not annoyed with your mom anymore.” And I was like, “Well, I had this incredible experience, and I told you about it.”‘

The Tell author pointed out how Gwyneth had a vibe of ‘peace and calmness’ after ‘really been going inward and and doing some work.’

Paltrow first revealed on Netflix’s The Goop Lab in 2020 that she used MDMA with her second husband Brad Falchuk, which she called ‘a very, very emotional experience.’

The psychedelic stimulant (also known as ecstasy and molly) was classified as a Schedule I controlled substance by the US Drug Enforcement Administration back in 1986.

But in 2017, the Multidisciplinary ᴀssociation for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) did clinical trials that led to a breakthrough therapy designation by the FDA for potential use as a treatment for PTSD.

Australia was the first country to approve the legal use of MDMA-ᴀssisted psycH๏τherapy for the treatment of depression and PTSD in 2023.
