Wayne Rooney would like to follow his wife Coleen onto I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! – but there is no chance of him becoming the next former footballer on Strictly Come Dancing.

The ex Manchester United and England star, 39, has been out of work since leaving the managerial post at Championship outfit Plymouth on New Year’s Eve.

The father-of-four said: ‘Definitely not Strictly! I can’t dance.

‘But, no, [I’m A Celebrity] is something I would never say no to, of course. I think I said on the after show when Coleen was in the jungle, that was the one we’ve always watched and the one we both said if there was anything we’d do it’d be that.

‘So, you never know in the future, but I’ve got other things I’m looking at at the minute.’

Wayne’s wife Coleen, 39, made it to the final of this year’s series where she finished in second place to McFly star Danny Jones.

Wayne’s comments come shortly after The Mail on Sunday revealed that Coleen is to star in a £10 million fly-on-the-wall reality show on streaming giant Disney+ after it triumphed in a bidding war against Amazon.

After months of back and forth between the rival broadcasters, Disney+ won the race with the mᴀssive fee, and cameras will go inside the Rooneys’ £20 million super-mansion in Cheshire.

The ‘at-home-with’ format is expected to see the couple and their four sons: Kai, 14, Kit, 11, Klay, eight, and Cᴀss, six.

Sources close to the project said that Coleen will be paid £5 million with the remainder going to production company Lorton Entertainment, which made her previous show, Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story.

One insider said: ‘It has taken months of bidding against one another. The money has gone up and up and has got to £10 million, which is way higher than was first imagined, but Coleen is very much in demand.

‘Both streamers were aware of the viewing public’s appeтιтe for the inside track on footballers’ home lives.

‘The Beckhams documentary was the most-watched show on Netflix in the UK last year, and has racked up more than 200 million hours of viewing time globally.

‘Coleen is loved by the British public, especially since she played a blinder on I’m A Celeb. It wasn’t surprising that Disney and Amazon wanted it and went head to head.

‘It will make for compulsive viewing. It won’t just feature Coleen but Wayne and their children, too.

‘It might be expensive, but the view is that it will be worth every penny.’

Wayne will be on ITV this summer representing England in Soccer Aid for Unicef at Old Trafford.

has revealed her husband Wayne won’t be rushing into anymore football managing jobs after he was sacked from Plymouth Argyle.

The former Manchester United captain, 39, returned to his wife, 38, and children in Cheshire after another disastrous spell in management ended after seven months.

After the stint with Plymouth didn’t work out, Coleen reckons Wayne is perfectly happy sticking with his punditry work for the forseeable future.

Speaking on Westlife star Nicky Byrne’s podcast , she said: ‘At the minute, he’s really happy on TV, podcasts and just being at home. Plymouth was a bit far.

‘It hasn’t worked out at certain clubs. It’s something he’s pᴀssionate about. It’s something he might revisit. He’s pᴀssionate about TV.’

Coleen enjoys having Wayne at home more and also discussed the struggles of raising their four boys.

She said: ‘At times it’s like being a single parent, especially when he was at Manchester United and England. You could never rely on a plan. I like a plan and a schedule. I found that hard.’
