Lily Allen has reportedly been approached by record labels as she plans a return to music for the first time in seven years.
The Smile singer’s last album No Shame was released in 2018 and reached number eight on the UK Albums Charts.
Lily teased fans about making new music last month when she revealed she was working on an unspecified project with singer, songwriter and producer Chloe Angelides and shared snaps in a recording studio.
And now a source has told The Sun that she was approached by numerous record labels to find out what she was working on after sharing the snaps.
One of the record labels to get in touch with Lily was BMG – who represent the likes of Kylie Minogue and Tina Turner – and said they thought her new music was ‘sounding great’.
‘Lily has been quietly beavering away on new music for a while, on and off, but her schedule has been packed,’ the source said.

The source also revealed singer is set to star in a re-imagining of Henrik Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler at Theatre Royal Bath in the тιтular role in June, and she has been writing songs for a new musical.
They added: ‘Lily is busy writing songs for her musical and right now she’s only thinking about that – but naturally she’s flattered by the interest in her, there is a lot of excitement around Lily.
‘She sold millions of records before, so it’s not surprising labels want to get her on board.
‘Lily isn’t rushing into anything though, she is a perfectionist and if she is committing to a project, she wants to give it her all.’
The British star has not released an album or single in seven years, opting instead to develop a successful stage career in London’s West End and launch a podcast with her close friend, Miquita Oliver.
But recent social media activity suggested she is back in the recording studio as she attempts to move on from the recent collapse of her second marriage to Stranger Things star David Harbour.
