Robert De Niro is opening up about his young toddler daughter Gia, and the kids programming he’s been watching with her.
The 81-year-old actor welcomed Gia in April 2023 with girlfriend Tiffany Chen, 45, making him one of the oldest fathers ever along with his Heat co-star Al Pacino, 84.
Gia is the actor’s seventh child, following Drena, 53, Raphael De Niro, 48, twins Aaron and Julian, 29, Elliot, 26 and Helen, 13, with the actor recently opening up about the taste of cobra meat on the set of The Deer Hunter.
De Niro appeared on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday, to promote his Netflix series Zero Day and her upcoming film The Alto Knights, in theaters March 21.
He was asked by Meyers what kinds of children’s programming he’s been watching with his daughter.
While the actor is most readily known for his roles in R-rated films, he also has at least one movie in mind that will be the first one he’ll show her when she gets a bit older.

When asked if he was ‘engaging’ in the type of programming she would watch, the two-time Oscar winning actor revealed what shows he watches with Gia.
‘Well, I watch Miss Rachel, The Wiggles, Blippy, and sometimes we watch episodes where they all work together,’ De Niro admitted.

Host Seth Meyers joked, ‘That’s the way I felt when I saw Heat,’ the 1995 Michael Mann classic that brought De Niro and Al Pacino on screen together.
De Niro then joked, ‘That’s what I felt when I saw Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein,’ referring to the 1948 Universal Pictures classics.
His youngest will still be far too young to watch most of her father’s film for many, many years, though the doting dad still had one film in mind that he might show her first.
‘I don’t know. Rocky and Bullwinkle, maybe,’ referring to the 2000 live action/animation hybrid that he starred in with Rene Russo, Piper Perabo, Jason Alexander and Randy Quaid.
The acting legend was also asked about a film festival he had discussed, where he’d screen all of his movies in chronological order.
‘Yeah. I thought of doing that. But I realize it’s easier said than done. And I don’t know. I’d like to do it. But I don’t know,’ he admitted.

When Meyers asked if there are any films he would skip, De Niro added, ‘Well, I’d have to look at everything.
The actor takes on two iconic roles at the same time – Vito Genovese and Frank Costello – two real mafia bosses – in his new film The Alto Knights.
He stars alongside Debra Messing, Kathrine Narducci and Michael Rispoli, while also reuniting with two creative forces.
He re-joins forces with director Barry Levinson, who directed De Niro in What Just Happened, Wag the Dog and Sleepers, and writer Nicholas Pileggi, who wrote Goodfellas, Casino and City Hall.
