Ekin-Su Culculoglu reveals the real reason behind her risqué Heart Rate Challenge dance as she shares the sweet moments fans didn’t see with boyfriend Curtis Pritchard

She may have caused a huge stir with her jaw-dropping performance in Love Island: All Stars, but Ekin-Su Culculoglu has now revealed the reason behind the racy dance which sent the villa into chaos.

The actress, 30, made a surprise return to the show for its All Stars series earlier this year, and caused a frenzy when she delivered one of the Sєxiest dances in the show’s history during the famous challenge.

While many viewers were stunned by her risqué display with love interest Curtis Pritchard, Ekin-Su also left Elma Pazar furious by kissing Sammy Root.

Speaking to Jamie Laing on the newest episode of his Great Company podcast, Ekin-Su has shared that she was determined to ‘live in the moment’ with her Sєxy performance.

She said: ‘Listen, I’m a very pᴀssionate woman, and if no one was on that fire pit, if there was no cameras, I would have done a Fifty Shades of Grey scene. But you know, is what it is.

‘I don’t care. It’s a game, whatever challenge, you know, the Elma thing was carried on for days. But listen, I live in the moment. I let my hair down. I don’t care. I’m having fun. Whether it’s a show or not, it’s who I am. I’ll do it in private too. You know.’

Referring to her saucy display with Curtis, Ekin-Su added: ‘Well, I wanted to go in the hideaway that night, and they wouldn’t let us, but listen, we were very, very, what’s the word respectfully?

‘We were frustrated, both of us, and it was like we just wanted to get out because, honey, I would not be doing anything in there, because it was just, come on you can hear the cameras. You don’t want to see you and stuff, you know.’

While growing close to Curtis in the villa, Ekin-Su also shared that she confided in the dancer about her concerns when they leave the show, telling Jamie that they had many bedtime chats that weren’t shown on screen.

She said: ‘So me and Curtis had private chats sometimes, like at night, under the sheets. And actually, the first time Curtis ever told me had feelings for me was under the sheets, not on camera, which felt real to me.

‘That’s when I said to him, I’m a bit anxious. I said I had these talks on camera too, actually, and I spoke to the psych in Love Island, and I said, I feel really anxious. I feel really not because at the time, there was a lot of things going on with the whole Elma thing, I felt like I was in the wrong for a while.

‘So, I said, ”am I a bad person?” I just felt guilty because I thought I deserved that. So, in my head, I was like, I’m scared to get out of here, Curtis, I’m scared. Am I going to be okay?

‘And he was like, Ekin, stop overthinking. You’re an overthinker. You’re here now. You wouldn’t be this far if people didn’t love you.

‘He kept saying that to me, reminding me of who I was. You’re Ekin-Su, forget Big Brother, forget Davide, remember who you are. And I think that really helped me.’

During the interview, Ekin-Su also admitted that despite her blossoming romance with Curtis, there’s ‘no time frame’ around when they’ll reach the next stage of their relationship.

She said: ‘I’m a lover girl, so I need to relax. I feel like there’s no time frame for this.

‘You know, if someone is the one, and you feel like that is your person, then, yeah, what’s the worst that can happen? You’re gonna get divorced. You’re not gonna die are you?’

Despite some viewers doubting the authenticity of their romance, Ekin-Su and Curtis’ relationship has stayed solid since leaving the show, and they made things official just days after leaving the show last month.

Ekin-Su’s decision to return to the Love Island villa for All Stars came as a surprise to some fans, after she suffered huge backlash following her stint on Celebrity Big Brother last year.

The star confessed that the trolling became so severe that she ‘cried for hours’ after holing herself up in her flat, before a pal urged her to speak to a therapist.

She explained: ‘It was a very low point I felt, because I already felt worthless going in the house, coming out to a lot of hate and death threats and people saying, you know, like, you don’t deserve to be alive.

‘I’m going to come and find you and kill you, like all these really nasty things, like, you should be ashamed to be who you are. You deserve to be bullied. It is triggering. It triggers things.

‘And I was in my flat, and I was just sitting on the floor and just burst into tears for a good three hours, just crying, and I just, I just felt like I didn’t know while I was like, touching myself thinking, is this real? Am I? Is this fake? Like, it was a really weird mind thing I was going through. Felt like this whole thing wasn’t real.

‘I just felt like, what happens if I just went away? Like, surely, that will be a good thing. Maybe I, you know, I had just weird things going through my head.

‘But then I remember having this phone call, and someone said, ”Ekin please speak to a therapist”. I’m shaking talking about it, but I said no. And they were like, no, you need to speak to a therapist. I don’t think you’re okay, you’ve not left your flat, you’re not eating, you’re not you’re not yourself.

‘I had my therapy session, and after that one session, I kind of they were like, right. You need you need to take yourself away for a week self-care. You need to switch off your phone and realize that Ekin you’re you haven’t done anything wrong. Like the feeling is temporary. It’s not real. This depression, it’s not real. It’s not who you are.

‘[It] took me a while to get out of it. The therapist recommended I speak the truth, because if you don’t tell the truth, and you’ll always have that anxiety in you.

‘So, I eventually did, and that felt like a weight off my shoulders, but it’s hard, because people look at you, especially in the industry, and think you’re this amazing person. You have everything that’s going for you, but is that the reality of it? It’s not, we’re all human.

‘It’s horrible. I never thought I’d be in that place. I always thought, oh my God. Like when people feel this low, surely, they can get back up, until it happens to you.

‘It is a very dark place, and I wouldn’t wish that upon anyone, anyone, whoever you are. You know.’

‘I believed that I deserved the booing. And it took me a while to even do Love Island All Stars. I was very 50/50, on it.

‘You know, after you’ve just done a show, that was my last show, I was like. So I just took it, took the took the sort of risk, and for, you know what? Just do it. Go back to something that you were from, that you were yourself on.’

Explaining her reason to return to the villa, Ekin-Su confessed that she wanted to go back on the show to ‘rewrite her story’ after her turbulent split from Davide.

She said: ‘So, I said to myself, I’m not going to do reality TV after Big Brother ever again. I was like, not doing it again. I was very like, no, I’m not going to go, but I would never do Love Island but actually, I was only saying that because Love Island reminds me of my ex.

‘So, I was defensive because of that. No one understood that. So, when I went back in, they were like, but she said she would never do Love Island again.

‘Yeah, it’s because I didn’t want to be reminded of my ex, because I was in pain, not because I was against the show.

‘And the reason I wanted to go back onto All Stars is because I felt like I want to rewrite my love story. I said I wanted to go have fun and let all these barriers down.

‘Okay, stop being so scared of TV again, go back to something and take a risk, like, what’s gonna happen again? The worst you’re gonna get dumped. I’ve done that. I’ve experienced my lows. It’s only onwards and upwards from here. And look, I met someone. So, I’m so grateful.

‘And I always say, just because you’re on a show doesn’t make you any better than anyone else. You can always go back, because there’s always a thing. Well, she won the show. She’s done this. You can go back.’

In a recent interview with MailOnline, Ekin-Su and Curtis proved that the attraction between them has continued to sizzle once the cameras stopped rolling as they let slip a very intimate activity.

When asked if their relationship is still just as solid away from the villa, Curtis enthusiastically remarked: ‘It’s bl**** awesome getting out the villa!

‘Getting back to normal, doing normal things and actually spending time together alone, with no cameras around! It’s unbelievable…’

The dancer went on to list that the couple have enjoyed some great dates and meals out, before Ekin-Su jumped in with a knowing smile and quipped: ‘Good chemistry… can’t say no more!’
