Ten Pound Poms viewers ‘give up’ on series two as they issue same complaint about Michelle Keegan drama – and swipe ‘I’ll watch Millionaire instead’

Some Ten Pound Poms viewers have ‘given up’ on series two of the Michelle Keegan drama and swiped ‘I’ll watch Millionaire instead’.

The BBC drama returned to screens on Sunday night with its new season but many fans raised the same issue.

Ten Pound Poms follows a group of Brits as they leave the country after World War 2 following the promise of a better life in Australia.

The first episode of series two follows Kate (Michelle Keegan), who is on the run with her son Michael after kidnapping him from his adoptive parents.

Meanwhile the Roberts family have to tackle their new life with a newborn baby.

Other cast members include Faye Marsay as Annie, Warren Brown as Terry and Marcus Graham as landlord Benny Bates.

Created by BAFTA award-winning Danny Brocklehurst, the first season of the post-war drama was first aired back in 2022 and though it proved to be popular, the two-year wait for a new instalment proved to be a problem with some viewers.

Many took to social media to share their thoughts on the series and one described the wait between the seasons as ‘wild’.

‘Two years between seasons is really wild #tenpoundpoms.’;

‘#TenPoundPoms given up, going to check out millionaire instead.’;

‘#TenPoundPoms It’s been two years since the first season. How is anyone expected to remember anything? I’ve literally “lost the plot.” Disconnected, no longer invested. Too long between seasons.’;

‘So long for S2 to come out, I’ve forgotten who’s who from the 1st Season. #TenPoundPoms.’

While other fans were please to see the new series and one said: ‘I have missed this show, so good to have it back!! the cast are incredibly talented <3 #tenpoundpoms.';

‘Nice to have #TenPoundPoms back, I enjoyed the first series, a good start to this one.’

It comes after the Mail’s Roland White rated the new instalment three out of four stars.

Viewers took to social media to share their verdicts on the new series, with some praising it and others complaining the wait was too long

Fans were originally delighted at the news that the series was returning to screens when Michelle and Warren posted on their Instagram accounts last month.

Warren shared a snap and wrote ‘Cameras are rolling and we are off! Ten Pound Poms Season 2!’

Delighted fans rushed to the comments to say they ‘can’t wait’ to watch.

Ten Pound Poms airs on BBC One and can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
