Who Wants To Be A Millionaire viewers have fumed over a glaring blunder in a history question. 

Sunday’s instalment of the ITV quiz show, hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, 64, saw three hopefuls test their knowledge and attempt to win some money.

One contestant, Neel Clements, was faced with a question about Henry VII’s six wives.

It read: ‘Which of King Henry VII’s wives did he marry last, making her the one who ‘survived,’ according to the well-known rhyme?’

The GP was presented with four options to choose from which were written as, ‘Katherine Parr, Anne of Cleves, Katherine Howard, and Katherine of Aragon’.

However, some viewers were quick to spot that the show had gotten three names wrong, as all of the Catherines were spelt with a K instead of a C.

Many took to social media to share their thoughts on the blunder, and one posted to X: ‘Why have they spelt Catherine wrong? #millionaire #wwtbam.’;

‘I thought it was Catherine with a C not a K for Aragon (the first wife). #whowantstobeamillionaire #wwtbam.’;

‘Since when was Catherine of Aragon, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr spelt with a ‘K’ as Katherine? #Whowantstobeamillionaire.’;

‘I always thought they were Catherines rather than Katherine #WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire.’;

While two commented on the official social media account for the show and penned: ‘Why did you spell all the Catherine’s wrong?’;

‘All Henry VIII’s wives named Catherine were not spelt with a K! Question setters need to be more thorough in their research. #itv1 #millionaireuk #jeremyclarkson.’

Neel answered it correctly as ‘Catherine Parr’ but went on to get the £7,000 question wrong after using the phone-a-friend lifeline. 

However, he still managed to take home £1,000. 

A previous episode of the popular quiz show saw Olympic cyclist Dame Laura Kenny take part in a celebrity special last month and left fans stunned when she used three lifelines on ‘such an easy question’. 

Dame Laura played to raise money for the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust and started strong but found herself stuck on the £16,000 question. 

It read: ‘Which of these 1980s films have sequels called Afterlife and Frozen Empire?’

Laura was presented with the following options, A) Top Gun, B) The Terminator, C) Ghostbusters or D) Blade Runner.

She ended up using three lifelines on the question and first asked Jeremy, who wasn’t able to help.

Then, she used 50/50 which left C – Ghostbusters and D – Blade Runner, but she still wasn’t able to decide on an answer so chose to phone a friend and called her father for help. 

He said: ‘I really don’t know, It’s going to be a guess, and I’d go for Blade Runner.’

In the end, Laura decided against risking selecting the wrong answer and chose to cash out, bagging £8,000 for her chosen charity.
